The sound of the creaking floorboards was what slowly pulled Aaliyah from her morning slumber, eyes blurry and bones heavy. The early morning sun was breaking in through the curtains and was painting the bed in golden rays, the white bedding almost shimmering in the light.
She turned her head, moving her hand up so she could rest it on her girlfriend’s chest but her eyebrows furrowed when her hand fell to land against the barren mattress instead. When Aaliyah opened her eyes properly she noticed how your side of the bed was empty, bed sheets messy after your departure and your phone was missing from the bedside table where it would normally be charging.
She sat up, extending her arms in a stretch as she let out a small yawn. Reaching over to the side to grab her two-way but didn’t get the chance to tap the screen before the bedroom door opened slowly and in you entered.
Her eyes were laser focused on the wooden tray you were carrying in your hands, and your sock covered feet were taking slow and steady strides towards the disheveled bed.
Aaliyah remained sitting on the bed but kept silent so she didn’t startle you out of your current deep concentrating state. She could feel the smile tugging on the corners of her lips at how sweet you looked carrying the tray that seemed to be decked out with all the breakfast food known to man along with a bottle of champagne.
When you got closer to the bed you finally glanced up, stopping dead in your tracks when you saw Aaliyah sitting up beneath the covers, eyeing you with a curious expression. Your heart melted at the sight of her sleep flushed pupils, messy hair that was tucked away in her black bandana and one of your old nike training shirts falling loosely over her shoulders.
“Aaliyah?" You state in a shock. "You're not supposed to be up yet sleepy head,” you mumbled from where you stood at the bottom of the bed.
"Talking about I'm not supposed to be up, but lets talk about how you're not even supposed to be here Y/N. I thought you had practice today?" She mutters, yawning. "I swore I felt you get up in the middle of the night."
"Yeah I did, but I cut it earlier than usual today if that's ok with you boss." You joked, moving towards your side of the bed, sitting the tray down with one hand as the other went to grab her stuffed orangutan bear pushing it over more on her side.
"Please, I dont care much that you left early It's your life. I'm just curious...any specific reasons for the sudden departure..." Liyah pried, running her fingers through her messy bed ridden hair.
"Nah not really," you shrugged lamely, using your best poker face. "Just wanted to spend some quality time with my favorite person in the whole wide world."
"Who, little ole me?" The singer questioned, pointing at herself with a fake pout.
"Yes you Dana." You sighed at her dramatics, taking a moment to get a good look at her before, leaning down to kiss her smooth glistening thighs.
