Aaliyah was never one that could see herself taking something like boxing lessons. She wouldn’t call herself a fighter, however growing up with a brother meant she’d learnt how to defend herself well enough up until now. The opportunity presented itself through one of her friends as they recommended their own talented, and according to Kidada, very hot trainer. So, she decided to give it a go, what else was there to lose?
Upon entering the building she felt instant regret, seeing the many people littering the gym made her slightly nervous knowing she was going to have to partake in this in front of them, and what if she happens to be mediocre? What if they laughed at her? Her hands shook slightly from the nerves and with a few deep breaths she was inching further into the gym, trying to avoid the countless eyes the girl felt on her. Her own eyes landed on the front desk where a rather attractive dark-haired man sat, his fingers typing away on the computer.
She approached the counter with a warm smile, patiently waiting until the man looked up.
“What's good, I’m Raymond,” he greeted, offering her his hand to shake. She noticed the slightly bruised skin of his knuckles, leading her to believe he was also a fighter as well as working the reception area of the gym. The name rang a bell in her head and he could tell with the look on the womans face that she was trying to piece it together. “Well if it isnt the famous Aaliyah,” he said. She nods her head, flashing him a smile in which he saw the realization cross her face. Liyahs lips turning into an ‘o’ shape. “Jess’ trainer,” she said.
He hummed, letting go of her hand to begin leading Aaliyah toward the ring. “Ding ding. Unfortunately for you shawty, I’m not going to be the one training you today.” Usher mutters, taking a glance up and down here body. "And damn I'm mad at that...fine ass."
"What was that?"
"Don't worry about it."
He saw her visibly deflate. She’d assumed that seeing as he trained her friend, and she’d recommended him to her, then he would be the one to train the girl. Now Liyah was unsure if she still wanted to continue knowing she was going to be left in the hands of a complete stranger. “Don’t sweat. She's one of my best trainers in here and she will treat you perfectly.”
His words did little to tame her nerves, the man leading the medium sized woman over to the corner of the ring where one guy and a girl were huddled around talking. He called one of their names and the shorter one of the two turned around with a wide smile.
You were attractive, Aaliyah had to say, cute smile, with a pretty head of hair sitting on your head and charming dreamy eyes that glanced at her figure, crinkling in the corners when you caught her staring.
