Aaliyah was stressed, to say the least. Today had been a busy day and it was only getting worse. Working at the coffee shop on campus had its perks, sure. Like having some extra cash and getting free snacks and refreshments. But it also had its downsides. It was always busy, and students weren't the nicest people in the morning. Some days, like today, even more so. A lot of the students were absolute assholes and couldn't bother to wait more than thirty seconds to get their drink when it obviously took longer than that to make, and every one of them always had something snarky to say or a bitch fit to throw to let her know just how ridiculous it was that she couldn't snap her fingers and the drink be done. They expected her to be some sort of miracle worker.
To say she was having a bad day was an understatement. Liyah had opened the store, today being one of the only days when she had no classes, so she could work for longer, which meant that the girl had gotten up at five this morning so that she could get ready and be at the shop by six. Every person that she'd greeted seemed to be in a hurry, hurtling snide comments at her over and over. It seemed to be the busiest day of the week, even though it was nowhere close to the weekend.
And to top it off, another customer just walked in. Thankfully, they took their time walking up to the register, spent a little while gazing at the sweets arranged in cases around the room. When the person finally did make their way to Aaliyah, they flashed her a bright crest smile.
"Hey, whats going on. What can I get you today?" She ask, going through the motions.
"Whats up, can I just get a regular coffee, also you're really pretty by the way." You still had that heart stopping smile on your face, and Aaliyah can't help but give you a real smile back. Unlike all the others she'd gave out today.
"Thank you, and sure, will that be all for today?" She continues, wanting to put the order through so that it will get done faster, just in case you're in a rush. It's just a black coffee, so all she had to do is pour it into a cup, but she's had multiple impatient people get upset over it taking her "too long" to pour it.
You want to say no, want to say that you want her number too. You think she's drop-dead stunning, and you secretly really wanted to tell her that. You wanted to let her know that you saw her through the coffee shop window and that you only came in here because of that. You wanted to tell her that you secretly hated black coffee but it's the cheapest option and you had to buy something to talk to the woman.
But you say none of those things, not wanting to come off too strong, sure she smiled at the compliment but anything else would surely be going to far. You've never seen her before, after all. You don't know who she is, if she's the kind of girl that would want to even give you the time of the day. If she's the kind of girl that gave any ole body the time of day. From just examining her you could tell she didn't entertain just anyone. Seems like a woman that was specific on who she gave her attention too.
