The familiar sound of a cell phone buzzing drew her out of her deep sleep. With Liyahs eyes still closed, she cuddled closer to your clothed chest, hoping that the phone would quit ringing soon disrupting her peaceful rest. You shifted underneath her as you slyly tried to reach for your phone over on the nightstand, but seeing as you two were tangled up on her side of the bed and there was basically a mountain of pillows on your side, you couldn’t quite grab it without moving away from her.

“No, just leave it, let it ring Y/N.” She groggily mumbled, not wanting you to move, she was far to comfortable at the moment. Having came in around six am arriving home from the airport it was safe to say that the singer was beyond exhausted, the girl had plans on sleeping the day in and here you were causing commotion.

“But baby, it’s my mom.” You laughed lightly, the vibrations running through your clothed chest to her warm cheek. You pressed a kiss to her head, before she shifted off of you so you could get your phone. You picked up the call and resumed your position sliding back up under her much to her irritation. Liyah wrapped an arm around your waist and laid her head back on your chest. Your free hand mindlessly found its way to under her tank top, caressing her soft lotion coated caramel skin of her lower back.

“No mom, you didn’t wake us up.” You told her mother, but the raspiness in your voice didn’t go unnoticed by her. You laughed, “Alright, fine, you definitely woke us up.” You paused and she could hear her voice coming through the phone. You looked down at Liyah for a moment her eyes still closed but she was certainly awake now, “Are we still on for the cookout this afternoon?”

“I don't know, are we?” Your mother answered. You both knew you obviously forgot to mention to her how your mother invited the two of you to your families weekend cookout. Your mind was on other things, it just sorta slipped from your thoughts. This week was kind of a hectic one for you, had it not been for that random call you two probably would've never showed up all because you simply didn't remember. Aaliyah was definitely better at remembering things at times, you had to admit.

“Yes, mom, we’ll be there. What do you want us to bring?” You spoke back into the phone. “Food? Well that's so very specific.” The girl lightly smacked your chest at your sarcasm, and your free hand came down to hold the hand that just hit you, “Okay, yeah we can bring the hot dogs.” There was another pause as she spoke to you before you replied, “Aaliyah would love to make some dessert.”

Hearing you sign her up for food duty, she playfully glared at you, still to tired to say something back. You said goodbye to your mother and tossed the phone to the side. The singer sat up and straddled your waist on her knees, hands falling by your head to keep her face above yours, long locks draping over your face.

“Well, what you wanting on, we got some grocery shopping to do.” You smiled up at her innocently, your hands resting on her hips, fingers playing at the elastic band on her choice of underwear.
