~Wednesday~

I wake as soon as my alarm blares beside my head on my bedside table, I grumble slightly when I try to fumble for the snooze button, after many failures I end up knocking it to the floor causing the batteries to fall out. I sigh softly and roll onto my back once the silence fills the room once more. I am looking forward to classes today as well as not looking forward to the day. I have been keeping the fact that the hyena bitch leader Laura has been making life a bit of hell at school within my first few days of school. I look forward to the day because I get to start off my day seeing Eddie at school then Steve at work later this evening for the closing shift.

I look through my closet once I have showered and brushed my teeth. I can take my time today because Robin had to get to the school early for practice. With Halloween being this Friday, the band is helping with a monumental pep rally for that day. I pull my long black skirt from its place, I top my outfit off with one of my favorite heather gray crop top sweaters. I look over my reflection in the long mirror hanging from the back of my bedroom door, I smile at myself, the way the skirt slightly flows over the tops of my mini platform boots makes me feel powerful and unstoppable. I quickly fix my hair back into a slightly messy braid with small stray hairs framing my face. The dark look of my eye makeup makes my gray-blue eyes look like they are glowing in the early sunlight shining through my window.

My hands tap against the steering wheel while I hum to the music blaring through the speakers of my car, I receive some weird looks from the other students when I pull into the parking lot. I am used to receiving these kinds of looks due to how I dress and my taste in music, I also try to not let it bother me, but some days are harder than others. I take a deep breath before exiting my car, I sling my bag over my shoulder before heading my way into the school building, still receiving weird looks from others as I pass them in the hallways. Once more I try to brush it off as best I can, my heart lightens once the bell rings signaling me that the first period is starting. Of course this class is my favorite due to my new best friend being in that class with me.

Eddie is scribbling away in his notebook as I approach, I stay silent as I take my seat beside his, “Hey Y… whoa!”, he says to greet me, but stops and looks at me for a moment in silence. I feel a warm blush cross over my cheeks as I see him look me over. “Close your mouth or you’ll catch a fly in it Eddie.”, I tease while grabbing my notebook from my bag. He shakes his head as if to reorient his thoughts, his wavy, brown hair moves with the motion. By the gods he is beautiful, I think to myself as I am left in awe of him, he isn’t just physically beautiful he is also beautiful on the inside. I have gotten to know him quite a bit over the last few days as we eat lunch together with his friends and he is by far one of the sweetest young men I have ever met.

“Y..yeah sorry, you just look wow.”, he states, I smile big at him, “Thank you, it just felt like a skirt and boot combo type of day.”, I joke, he laughs along with me. The teacher reiterates what we are doing for the class before we get with our partners to work on our projects. Almost immediately as she leaves us to it, the class moves about, Eddie and I scoot our desks closer to one another in the back of the room. We spend the class going back and forth over the content of our project and other things. I finally explain to him the reason I moved to Hawkins and why I am living with my cousin. We chat little about our childhoods because I have this feeling Eddie didn’t particularly have a great one with the way he avoids the topic besides talking about his Uncle Wayne.
