~Eddie’s POV~

I don’t know what surprised me more, the way her hair flowed around her face, her sleeveless Dio shirt or the fact that she noticed the Megadeth patch on my denim vest, but I am glad she did. She seems a bit nervous once the teacher calls for everyone to partner up, “I’m guessing no one wants to partner up with the new girl who looks like a freak.”, she mumbles under her breath. I don’t let it be known that I had heard her say this, so I slowly scoot my desk towards her’s, “I guess that leaves us to partner up.”, I smirk slightly to try to lighten the mood a bit. “I’m Eddie by the way.”, I hold out my right hand as I introduce myself to her. She smiles sweetly when she takes it and gives it a shake, “Nice to meet you Eddie.”, she states, she isn’t looking at me like I am a freak or is disgusted in any way, I think to myself, this makes me smile softly.

I am blown away after I pick up the polaroid that has fallen from her notebook, I look it over and notice the guitar in her hand looks just like my Warlock, except in a different color, blood red with black ink blots. “No way! You play?”, I ask her once she has the photo back in her hand and it goes back into the notebook. She explains to me that it was a gift from her mother for her birthday last year. My god can she be anymore perfect, I ask myself, Get yourself together Munson, you literally just met her like a few minutes ago, get to know her before scaring her off, I chastise myself.

We get on the topic of music as we are going over our project, come to find out we have similar music tastes, the pair of us seem to just click instantly over this. After a few moments she asks about my “Hellfire Club” shirt, I tell her it’s for the little Dungeons and Dragons group I put together and run. The look of excitement that crosses over her face and hits her eyes makes my heart flutter, “No shit! Seriously?”, the excitement in her voice seems to let me know she is into it. “Please tell me you play as well.”, I ask, my hands flail a bit in an animated way. Her excitement seems to escalate a bit at my question, she explains that she hasn’t in a while and that her mother was the reason she got into the tabletop game to begin with.

“You should sit with us at lunch, meet the others, they’ll be excited to know I found another person who loves the game as much as we do.”, I suddenly blurt out, I internally cringe at how excited I must sound, way to go Munson, now don’t get too excited, that internal voice voices. She smiles at me sweetly, the twinkle of passion in her eyes makes me smile bigger, “Totally, that'd be great.”, she replies. I feel my shoulders relax at her answer, I was internally afraid I was coming on a bit too strong about it all. I am aware everyone here thinks I am a freak, but something within me wants her to not see me in that way so I need to calm it down so as to not look desperate.

~Lunchtime~

I see her as soon as she begins to approach our table, “Hey Eddie.”, I smile more when I hear her call out to me as if to grab my attention, which at this point she already has. “Guys I’d like you to meet Y/n, she is the one I was telling you about earlier.”, I say aloud to the group of young students at the table before me. I shake my head and grab an extra chair from one of the other tables when she makes a move to take a seat at the other end of the table, she seems surprised when I pat the seat of the chair to signal to her to take a seat beside me at the head of the table.

I can’t help but smile proudly when Y/n begins to explain her character when one of the younger students asks her about said character. Y/n swallows the bite of her food before she speaks, "Her name is Astra, my mother would DM and would allow us to dual class actually. So she is a half-elf sorcerer paladin, I made her a mini-tank.”, she explains, the more she goes on about how her mother did a dungeon crawl once. I am impressed when she goes into detail about the adventure, what impresses me more is that her Astra was actually the only remaining person standing by the end of the session. She certainly knows the game and how to play, I think to myself, I will have to speak to the others about the possiblity of her joining us, it would be awesome to add her to our sessions, I tell myself.
