Tai Yang didn't want to die. He didn't want a lot of things. He didn't want to be orphaned at a young age. He didn't want to be a lonely guy just making his way through life.
One of the biggest things he didn't want but wasn't the biggest was to be suffocated by a pillow.
Sadly all these terrible things happen somehow in some way.Tai Yang was a lonely orphan and he was killed by the suffocation of a pillow. Tai Yang didn't even have anything to live for but he didn't want to die. He didn't even know why someone wanted him dead. Yet someone out there hated him enough to suffocate him with a pillow.
Tai Yang couldn't recall offending someone. The worst thing he could remember was forgetting to tip the mailman. Which he was sure he wasn't supposed to do. Though he did anyways.
He also never liked pain so pain was something he didn't want to inflict on other people. From physical pain to mental, he absolutely hated it all.
Running barefoot or being beaten for being hungry and needing food. Both had happened a lot in Tai Yang's childhood. When he couldn't get a job or make money.
So even when he could he didn't act superior to others. Not that he lived a much better life than them. He only wanted to die a peaceful death. Not wanting any major events to take him off the earth. So being killed with a pillow wasn't such a great way to go in Tai Yang's mind because, after all, it was a pillow.
A goddam PILLOW!!!
Not him dying peacefully in his sleep. Not even dying doing something like being in the army or saving a kid from a fire. He was killed by a pillow. His own pillow that he slept with. This was probably the worst way to die in history. Even choking on something like tofu would have been a better way to die. Not that he thought someone could even choke on tofu. That stuff was too soft and squishy to choke on.
So when Tai Yang died and everything went dark he was sad that he had a depressing life and did nothing memorable but he accepted it. Or at least most of it. He wasn't going to die without cursing at what he wanted to in his last moments. Now that he was dead meat he could curse all he wanted to.
"Fuck you, mother fucker! Shit! God dam you motherfuckers!" That is what Tai Yang said out loud but internationally he cursed even at the most stupid things. Fuck you, God! Fuck everything! Fuck the government and healthcare! Fuck all the people who eat broccoli. Shit on you Gong from the 'Ramen Taste Good' shop down the street!
He even keep cussing when the darkness became brighter. From a pitch blackness to a light gray before it finally was a light white. Tai Yang didn't notice. Still busy cursing at the world that did nothing for him.
He had no reason to stop just like he had no reason to continue but if this was the end there is no point in limiting what he said in his last moments. He was going to die. There was no stopping that, but this still made him mad.The dumb world had done nothing good for him but for some reason he still wanted to live. He wanted to be alive to see the sun and curse more while he was at it.
Sometime later when it wasn't just what he said that changed but what he felt Tai Yang noticed that something was off. He could surprisingly feel something in his hands. It was wet and moist, just like freshly watered grass. He could even feel the mud underneath his fingertips.Wait! I have fingertips?! Tai Yang thought. I can still think?! Shouldn't I have lost consciousness by now? Or at least the ability to think and to feel?
Trying to move a body that he shouldn't be able to control. Tai Yang attempted to move his arm and somehow it worked. Feeling forward he could feel something smooth and cold but then he lifted his hand by an inch and he felt fur.
Confused next, Tai Yang tried to move his head. Unlike his hand it was unresponsive. Trying again all he got was a mouth full of mud and grass. Instinctively he spat out the mud ball. A few pieces of grass were still on the top of his mouth. He might have had the reflex to spit out the distasteful mud but he couldn't really control his tung. It would only flop to the side of his mouth when he tried.
Struggling to even do this, Tai Yang tried to sit up from where he was stuck in the mud. Not wanting to be there any longer.
Sitting up was like a final test. This was the hardest thing to do yet. After a few minutes of continuous struggle and energy lose, Tai Yang finally managed to sit up, also finally managing to open his eyes.
His face had been logged in the ground, that's why he couldn't open his eyes or move his head. Relieved he was able to breathe properly, he started to look around from where he was on the ground.
Looking left and right all Tai Yang could see was wheat. He was in a giant wheat field. In each direction was wheat as far as Tai Yang could see.
Giving up on seeing anything in the distance, Tai Yan looked around him and found a brush. Though it was bigger than a normal paintbrush. It looked like a brush from before pens were a thing. One you would see in museums or in statues.
Picking up the overly large brush as if it was a pen Tai Yang pretended to wright with it. It was bigger than the normal grip size that of a pen. How would someone use this? It was too big to use.
Standing up Tai Yang kept the brush in hand. After all, it look expensive. With a pure white tip and golden engravings swirling up and down the body of it. The small engravings were leaves and calla lily patterns.
Along with a silver lining next to each pattern. Not fully overlapping the patterns but exactly next to each one.The brush looked expensive but when Tai Yang looked at what he was wearing he was doubled as confused as when he found out he wasn't dead. He was in run-down robes. He wasn't wearing this when he died. Why was he wearing this now?
The robes were brown and white. Reaching to mid-calf and one sleeve was cut off at the shoulder while the other was a full long-sleeve.
Had someone changed his clothes into this to do something to him after death? Some people did believe in how you are buried is how you live in the afterlife.
That would make sense if he was in good clothing but he wasn't. So that made no sense unless they wanted him to go to hell. Not wanting to know who was so eager to send him to hell, Tai Yang picked one foot after the other. Trudging through the wheat fields. Which was extremely hard since it was muddy.
