"Wandering spirit!"

Still holding his mouth shut the little boy picked him up after a long moment of silence. Still silent he walked around a corner then through another door to what looked like a small bedroom. Not that it could be even called a bedroom.

It was about the size of a broom closet but there was no room to walk in. You could only go as far as the door frame before you were met with a bed. Or some kind of hammock.

Being placed down on the hammock, Tai Yang was barely balancing with the sway of the hammock.

Looking closer at it he could see It was cow skin. Each lag was nailed into the corners of the walls, halfway up.
With and tilt of the cow skin beneath his feet, Tai Yang could not stay standing up. At one point he did manage to stand up only to be knocked over by a big lump sitting next to him.

Scrambling to his feet, Tai Yang, looked over at the boy. He was met with big blue eyes staring back at him with curiosity. Reminding him or a newborn kitten exploring the world right after opening its eyes for the first time.
As the boy's eyes seemed to get larger by the second, he spoke up in a soft tone like before, "Shen?"

This confused Tai Yang. Shen? As in the spiritual element of a person's psyche. Mabey god, expression, or wandering spirits. Oh did he mean wandering spirit before he was now a rodent and the rodent he had transformed into was known as a wandering spirit?
Stupid kid! Me really human! Tai Yang internally thought.

This did get Tai Yang thinking though. Was he a ferret or a weasel? While both had their downsides it wouldn't be that bad either. it was a fifty-fifty chance it could be good or bad to be a weasel or ferret.

As a weasel or ferret, you would be seen as a wandering spirit and seen as bad luck to kill. They are said to replace people's souls; killing them would bring bad luck or death to the killer and their family.

This meant he would not be killed if someone believed in this. He would only be killed if someone didn't believe in this. They would kill him on the spot for being a pest and a nuisance. Seeing him as only an obstacle, killing all of their chickens. So it could go either way. To be clear of death or directly in range of it.

If this boy hadn't killed him yet, that meant the boy belived in this and was not going to kill him. Seening Tai Yang as a wandering spirit and good luck.

"You're a wandering spirit right. Are you here to bring good luck to us?" The boy said it with such hope and sadness it hurt Tai Yang's heart.

He was happy he wouldn't be killed but now this kid expected him to bring his family or maybe his whole town some kind of luck. What could he do? He wasn't really a weasel. Though he was now even if he didn't know how that worked. Turning into an animal, it was all silly. Something only a child would conjure up as a fairy tale dream. Yet all of that had happened.

If he played this out right maybe he could act like he was lucky and produced good things. It was either a small amount of guilt on his conscience or living, or he would choose to live any time. Life was life after all.

Not knowing how to act like a weasel or ferret, Tai Yang simply nodded his head slightly. Indicating he understood the boy without selling himself out, creating a consequence he probably wouldn't even know he caused. It seemed the boy's eyes widened even further than there were if that was possible.

Looking shocked even though he was the one who thought it in the first place and was only getting his question answered.

"You'll bring good luck to my family!" The boy still looked shocked and curious but excitement was in the mix now. Making him seem even more like a newborn puppy.

The boy reached out trying to pick up Tai Yang to have his hands avoided. Shifting his position the boy once again tried again to grab Tai Yang and for a second time, his hands were avoided.
