Both Tai Yang and Long Ling halted their movements and looked at Gu Lang, both not knowing how to explain without sounding guilty.
They didn't commit a crime or anything like that but saying how they treated Cai Huang did sound punishable.
Long Ling did shove Cai Huang, a little pest of a ferret into a bamboo basket and even ignored it when it fell. Tai Yang himself didn't do much - also being a small rodent - but did indeed watch, or more like listen to this play out and do nothing.
In which made them both guilty for what happened to Cai Huang. Not that they knew if anything bad happened. The bamboo basket didn't even shift a inch since it fell.
This didn't necessarily mean anything happened to the ferret but it didn't also mean anything didn't happen. For all they know the rodent could be dead. Which was vary low on the scale on what could happen but it was on the scale no less.
Being reasonable one would assume what actually happened was that Cai Huang was just knocked unconscious when he fell.
"Um-m Yisheng Gu-ge, the ferret you saved from drowning earlier is in that basket on the floor." He stammered a little while pointing at the bamboo basket.
The boy was no long sad or disappointed at the man in front of him but wary. He didn't want to get in trouble with a man that controlled so much. Such as his mothers and sisters life.
While his mother was heavily ill, his sister had the same thing but only in the early stages. Somehow he didn't have the illness they both did but if he wanted to help them get better he certainly shouldn't get the man that could help them both angry.
Scared for his family Long Ling wide eyed watched Gu Lang turned his head slowly to look at the bamboo basket on the floor.
"It was originally on the shelf but it fell." Long Ling continued to explain. "I didn't make it fall I promise. It did that itself."
Surprisingly this explanation seemed to relax Gu Lang down. His shoulders relaxed as he walked over to pick up the bamboo basket. He even laugh lightly as he peaked inside.
Setting the basket back on the counter he smiled over at Long Ling . Completely no interest in the basket.
Clapping his hands together he said,"He fine. He can survive such a small thing. And if he can he a baby."
" Really?" Long Ling asked quietly.
"Yes really, he's fine. Now how about we get a move on to my friends place before it's to late." Walking to the door he looked back at the boy, "Unless you need somthing else before we leave."
Long Ling, looked nervously at his feet before holding his hand out, showing the three cuts and single bite mark.
It was clear what he wanted. He might have shrugged it off before but he did indeed want to bandage it. Meaning it hurt more then he made it seam.
See this also, Gu Lang grabbed a clear bottle and some rap from the top shelf on the third row over. Walking over he sat down in a chair. Motioning to the chair next to him for Long Ling to sit down in.
Grabbing the jar of lychee and helping Tai Yang jump on his shoulder he eagerly rushed over to Gu Lang. Siting down holding out his hand ready for it to be rapped.
While Gu Lang rapped his hand, Long Ling continued to peal lychee. Handing them to Tai Yang who didn't feel the slightest bit guilty for eating them all without sharing a single one.
Once that was all done they finally set out for good this time. Heading for Gu Lang's friend that he said had strawberries and more for Long Ling's oatmeal.
