The next morning, I wake up with a sudden realization.
Crap! It's Monday!
I roll over, and fall out of bed, bringing the covers and sheets with me.
"Ahh!" I let out a mini-shriek. I had not been anticipating my closeness to the edge of the mattress.
For a moment, I stay perfectly still. Then remember that I actually have to go to school, and get up. Groggily, I sit up, then tear myself from the covers. I crawl away from them, then put them back on my bed, still on my knees. Once this is accomplished, I crawl over to my bathroom, and pull myself up to my feet, using the sink for support.
Nothing better than starting a day out this dramatically.
I rip my clothes from my body (although not literally) and start the water for the shower. I brush my hair while waiting fo ri tto warm up. When I feel the water is warm enough, I hop in. And immediately all traces of sleepiness are gone.
I washed off, then dried off and got dressed for school. I didn't choose anything special, just a pair of jean shorts and a some-what baggy t-shirt. Then I quickly applied mascara and eyeliner.
After all of that, I run into my closet, and pull off a muscle shirt off a hanger. Then I run over to my dresser and pull out a pair of spandex shorts. Once I have them both, I walk over to where my dance bag sits on my floor, and dump all the contents out on my bed. I then repack it with the new outfit, and with the other stuff i will still need like my water bottle.
Walking into the kitchen, I pull a box of Lucky Charms from on of the cupboards. I then go over and get a bowl and spoon. I pour myself a bowl of cereal, then fill it to the top with milk. Carefully, I bring it over to the kitchen table and sit down. I gulf the thing down, knowing that I only have a few minutes to get to the bus stop.
When I'm finished, I quickly rinse the bowl and spoon, then leave them in the sink. I rush to the stairs, where I have left my backpack and dance bag, then run to the front door. But when I open it, I realize that all the worrying was for nothing. Because in my driveway, is Xenen's car.
He's dropped me off from school once, when I stayed late to watch his football practice, but never picked me up or dropped me off other than that time. Espiecially without notice. But it's okay. It brings a smile to my face.
I run over to the passenger door, open it, and hop in.
"Well this is surely a lovely surprise." I say, cheerfulness obvious in my tone.
He leans over, and kisses me on the forehead. "I'm glad you think so."
"I wouldn't think otherwise."
He pulls away, and as he begins pulling out of the driveway, I stuff my bags down by my feet.
"Is it okay if i drop you off after school too?"
Nervously, I bite down on my lower lip.
"Well... I actually have dance lessons, and..."
"Oh. Well can I drop you off there then?"
This surprises me. He actually wants to drop me off at my dance studio!
"Yeah, of course. I would love that."
I lean over in my seat and kiss his cheek. A smile spreads across his face.
The rest of the way we drive in silence. Although it's not the awkward silence, more like comfortable silence.
When we finally get at school, I take in a sharp breath. Here we go, time to confront all the rumors and scandals.
While there isn't particularily negative going around about me right now, there has been before. And there still are about other people.
