Dazai was always composed, he never lost his cool. So him running off (in front of Chuuya of all people) definitely meant something was wrong.
The upside (or downside, however you want to see it), is that this has happened before. Dazai would always go to the same place too.
Chuuya and Dazai being eachothers support systems, meant Chuuya knew how to deal with this. And knowing Dazai (and knowing his favorite hobby), meant he had to act fast, real fast . He already wasted enough time, standing around with his mouth slightly agape, confused.
Then he got angry.
How dare Dazai be angry at a direct order from the boss? What did he expect Chuuya to do? Just say "oh no, I'm nOt gOnNa dO whaT you ordEr becAuS it migHt upsEt my pArTnEr" of course not. Blood is a big part of the mafia and is an everyday thing. Dazai would know that more than anyone, seeing as he's not only an executive, but has also been in charge of many shootout operations.
One of the guards outside by the office looked over at the red head and chuckled. "you really gotta get better control over your boyfriend" he said mockingly. "it's scary to think that you kids are so close to the boss, let alone executives" he ended.
Chuuya began walking, he was absolutely floored but he still had to keep up his end of their partnership to some degree.

He had only known the place existed thanks to Odasaku, Dazai's best friend. After one of Dazai's first panic attacks at the ripe age of 15, Chuuya asked Oda and was informed of the comforting location.
Lupin bar.
Chuuya made his way to the bar. It wasn't too far from the head quarters so he opted for a walk, in turn, also giving himself the chance to calm down.
He was standing outside the bar. "this is so stupid" he huffed and entered the building. He walked down the stairs and into the homy bar. It was dimly lit, with a few tables and chairs along with red stools lining the bar. There was no one to be seen or heard though. At least until the bartender appeared from the back.
"hi, I'm here for Dazai..." Chuuya said walking closer to the other man. "he's on the roof, the door is unlocked" the man hinted with frustration. He obviously just wanted to open up, but was stopped by Dazai's bullshit. "thanks" Chuuya said quickly and made his way towards roof
He had made his way up the stairs and was now by the door to the roof. He opened it and immediately grabbed for his hat that almost flew off. It sure was windy up here. He looked over and noticed Dazai sitting calmly at the edge of the building. He didn't seem as upset. Chuuya went and sat by him quietly. They sat there in silence for a second.
"we both knew I had no choice Weather to take the job or not" Chuuya said after a minute or two. "yeah, I know" was all Dazai said. He didn't look at the red head though, keeping his eyes fixed on the city. "do you think we can make a plan that will save him?" Dazai added after a second. "I don't think it's possible. Mori would have our heads for going against his orders" Dazai finally looked at Chuuya. He looked normal. "well can we still try? If we make it look like he succeeded without our help then Mori wouldn't know" Dazai said.
It was definitely a sight to see, Dazai caring so much for someone that wasn't himself. "he's my best friend Chuuya. I don't want him to die" Dazai said flatly. He paused, then added "I like to come here to clear my mind when I get stressed."
It was silent again, at least until the sound of Chuuya's phone rang. He brought the phone up to his ear. "Chuuya! It's over, you can stand down" Mori informed. "what?" Chuuya asked confused. "Odasaku. He's decided to go fight Gide. He did it without having to be told. I think he knew it was inevitable" Mori continued. Chuuya looked over at Dazai who was staring right back at him. "what?" Dazai asked. "where is it happening?" Chuuya asked Mori completely ignoring Dazai's question. "oh that's not important! Have a nice day Nakahara" Mori said and ended the call.
Shit.
"Dazai, did Oda say anything about where their base was?" Chuuya questioned nervously. "I think so, he said it was somewhere near the far ends of Yokohama, he didn't elaborate more than that but I can guess where it is.. Why...?" "no reason"
"just curious"
