Uzi was pretty cool or at least Thad thought so.

Watching Uzi finish off that Disassembly Drone, with her own gun made of scrap, was truly inspirational. Meanwhile, he could barely keep himself alive against V. Now ideally everyone wished the Disassembly Drones hadn't attacked but at least there were few casualties. That was probably the best outcome.

Not to mention that she got N to rebel to if one Disassembly could change then maybe there was hope for the colony. Granted, he didn't know how she has done it from what Uzi told him their leader planted a virus in him so maybe she hacked him and that somehow changed him.

Well, he doubted that he'd ever really know the truth. Uzi wanted to keep that part a secret.

And he rarely got to see her with her self-exile and all and he doubted she ever comes back. That hurt Thad quite a bit. Even though they only talked once in the colony he considered Uzi his friend. But at least he could still visit her at the pod and he even helped her out. He definitely believed they were making progress.

And with the Disassembly Drones basically defeated it was a great turnaround for his kind.

But the next morning some disturbing news came that left his family in shambles. He remembered everything in clear detail. Thad awoke to the sound of his sister shouting.

He rushed downstairs immediately only wearing his boxers not even putting on his favorite hat. Following that he heard his mother crying.

When he was downstairs he saw them both his sister Lizzy her hair was down and she was in pink PJs. Normally she was dressed up when guests came over with a big smile on her face but she wasn't smiling her eyes were dilated and tears were running along her cheeks. Meanwhile, their mother was sitting on a chair leaning forward she was holding her face into her hands sobbing loudly her brown hair which was always in a bun was now disheveled and messy.

"Thad!" Lizzy shrieked and rushed over to her brother. Normally she wouldn't be this close to him but she held onto him tight sobbing and shouting.

"Don't listen to him he's a liar."

The uninvited guest a Worker from the WDF watches with a depressing look on his face his eyes deeply apologetic. Thad recognized him almost instantly. He was one of Dad's friends from work the guy who shook his head when he asked him to defend against the Disassembly Drones.

"Lizzy, please-"

"Shove it, old man!" Lizzy blurted out her somber feelings slowly boiling over into rage as she let out a round of insults at the old man."

"You don't know anything about my dad. You're just some cowardly old man. Don't you DARE lie to me again! Don't you lie to my family! And get out of my house you lying crusty old-?" She held Thad tighter, turning back to him.

"Enough!" Their mother shouted.

Surprising everyone as Lizzy bit her lip as Thad hesitated to say his next few words.

"M-Mom?" It was the first thing Thad had said that morning.

Everyone watched as Thad's mother looked up she was still leaning forward her somber orange eyes facing them. The look on her face was so lifeless.

"It's true, isn't it? My husband is really..." She hesitated not wanting to say the words aloud.

"No way it's probably someone else their were a lot f other drone there! Dad is-" She screamed not wanting to listen anymore. "Lizzy please..." Their mom despite her defeated tone pleaded to not argue.
