i yawned as i walked out of my room, stumbling slightly as papa rushed by me, not even giving me a glance.

"good morning to you too.." i mumbled, making my way down to the dining room to say good morning to all the ghouls.

as i walked through the ministry, it was eerily quiet.

there weren't any distant footsteps, there wasn't any muffled sounds behind doors. it was just.. silent.

my usually silent footsteps echoed around the walls, my steps being the same they've always been.

as i walked into the common room, it was empty. it looked the same from when we cleaned it up the night before.

it was untouched.

i rose a brow, walking across the hall to the dining room.

empty.

"um.." i mumbled, walking back into the kitchen to see that it was empty as well.

"what the hell?" i whispered, walking out into the main hall.

if it wasn't for seeing papa when i left my room, i would've thought that everyone in the ministry left me on my own.

what day is it..? it's wednesday.. what would be happening on a wednesday?

i groaned, walking back upstairs to the hall of rooms.

i walked to aether's door, knowing he'd give me some sort of explanation for where everyone was.

i rose my fist up the door, about to knock before someone yelled.

"what are you doing?!"

i yelped, jumping away from the door and looking over, seeing papa.

"knocking on aether's door?" i mumbled, stepping back as papa rushed over to me.

"do you know what day it is?!" papa exclaimed, gripping my shoulders. my eyes widened at his panicked attitude.

"wednesday?" i asked. papa's eyes narrowed, "thursday." he corrected.

"okay.. why does that mean i can't knock on aether's door?" i mumbled, trying to escape papa's death grip.

"what have we been preparing you for?" papa grumbled. "the super moon." i answered. papa stared at me.

...

"that's today?!" i exclaimed, running back to my room to look at my calendar.

sure enough..

thursday, october 13th

my eyes widened at how close i just came to possibly endangering my life.

"stay. here." papa demanded as i turned around, closing my door after.

i swallowed harshly, stumbling over to my bed.

what do i do for the rest of the day..?

after spending the whole day playing my guitar, reading the book of ghouls, practicing the little art skills i had, reading other books rain and mountain had given me, making small paper gifts for when the ghouls felt better, and scrolling through social media, i was hungry for dinner.

i took a deep breath, standing from my bed and shuffling over to my door. i opened it slowly, peaking out and looking at the ghouls' rooms. all the doors were closed. i sighed in relief, stepping out and starting to tiptoe downstairs.

as i crept down to the main hallway, trying to be dead silent, i was tackled into a room.

"what the hell?!" i exclaimed, looking up at who jumped on me.
