Oliver's POV
Sapphire had been bipolar the minute Corrina and Darin had left us in the green field. She would yell and kick me one minute and then start treating my wounds the other times. I was in over my head if I tried fighting back. Sapphire had stayed in her fighting mode, but I didn't know why. We had no one around us for miles. I couldn't help about what Corrina had said to me. She was crying! It made me feel so bad! And the fact that my ex was here made it more humiliating. "Hey... Sapphire. We need to talk." I told her. Then she kicked me again in the back. "WHAT DO YOU THINK WE'VE BEEN DOING?!" She yelled at me. I winced once again before telling her my true meaning. "I mean talk about our relationship. I'm breaking up with you." I told her, closing my eyes and bracing myself for a full on brawl. Instead I heard someone sniffing behind me. I opened my eyes and turned my head slightly to look over my shoulder to look at Sapphire. She ad vivid tears running down her cheeks, but I couldn't tell what they were for. Was she angry-crying or sad-crying? Her purple eyes were hooded behind her long light purple bangs so reading the emotions in her eyes was obviously not an option.
"YOU IDIOT! WHY DID WE DATE FOR THREE YEARS IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO DUMB ME FOR A GIRL YOU'VE ONLY KNOWN FOR TWO AND A HALF WEEKS?! I DON'T UNDERSTAND! WHAT DOES SHE HAVE THAT I DON'T?" Definitely a formidable mix of both crying types. I sighed and thought about it before telling her my answer. "She was quiet and scared to everyone, including myself. At first I only thought about doing my job... But then that day I saw something different about her. She had gotten beaten to a pulp by this girl at school just because she and I talked. When I saw her I felt anger and fear for her. When she started recovering we talked more. I felt so much compassion for the girl that had taken punches and kicks just to be my friend. That's the girl I fell in lobe with. And she loved me back." For all the word that had ever left my mouth, these felt the most clear and thoughtful things I had ever talked about anyone with. "Does she really make you that happy?" I nodded. "Then she's going to get another beating! And this one will end HER LIFE!" My head whipped around to stare wide eyed at insane Sapphire. Her grin gave off the vibe that she should be put in a straight jacket and thrown in a locked room.
Just then a shadow started to grown on the ground and a voice rang through the air. "Outta the way! Girlfriend coming through!" I looked up and started to crawl away at the incoming missile that was Corrina. I had only had it about a foot away from when her feet landed gracefully. How she did that I didn't bother asking. "Well, that was a nice flight!" I turned my head around to look at Corrina as she dusted some light dirt off her shoes. A large pair of light purple glasses framed her eyes, but other than that her outfit was the same as before. "Good to see you again." I was jolted out of my thoughts by Corrina's warm smile towards me. "YOU AND ME BITCH! FIGHT FOR OLIVER! LIFE OR DEATH!" My attention snapped from Corrina to the mad Sapphire, yelling at Corrina. "I will fight you. But I won't kill you. I'd rather not have more blood on my hands." Corrina sighed out as she pinched the bridge of her nose with her eyes closed. "I DON'T CARE AS LONG AS I CAN BEAT YOUR ASS!" Sapphire lunged forward with great speed and aimed both thin white daggers at Corrina. "Watch out!" I called out, even though she was right next to me. Corrina hooded her eyes and then the sound and small yellow spark of iron again iron rang through the still air.
I hadn't even seen Corrina unsheathe her own sword from her side to block Sapphire's attack. "Trying to intimidate me will only get your own ass whooped." It sounded like Corrina, but that wasn't her normal personality. Her words sounded like that girl Corrina and Darin were talking about earlier... What was her name?- Regina! That's it! It sounded like her words but that was definitely Corrina's voice. "So Regina's not going to fight me? How noble of you Corrina." Sapphire spat at the blonde. Corrina narrowed her eyes. In a flash the two broke grasps and there was a shallow slash across Sapphire's left cheek. She screamed and held her cheek in her hands. She dropped her daggers and pulled out bandages to treat her wound. Not something you'd do in real combat, huh? "You're wide open." I hadn't even noticed that Corrina had moved from her standing spot to being behind Sapphire and holding her thin blade less than a centimeter away from Sapphires neck. The purple haired girl shot her neck back, only to hit Corrina's shoulder, keeping her locked in a small space.
I felt the energy to stand. I didn't want anything to happen to Sapphire, but I also knew that Corrina could kill the girl at any chance she had. "Let her go. She was only helping Darin because she was his ex-fiancee." I explained calmly to Corrina. She looked up at me with dull eyes and gave me a curt nod before her sword and armor disappeared from her body. Corrina stood up and walked around the still recovering Sapphire and came over to me. "Have you seen anyone fly by since I left? I freed everyone from the cell downstairs earlier and I hopped that they would have followed me and gotten outside at some point." She explained calmly to me as she crossed her arms under her chest. I shook my head as a dark shadow flew over my our heads and formed an almost human shape. "There they are! Take us down Fredrick!" We both looked up to see the weirdest travel team of all time. Fredrick and Arcadia both had their wings out and extended with many girls and a couple boys clinging to them.
"HEY GUYS!" I gave small smile to Orano as he let go of Fredrick's let leg and pelted towards Corrina and I. My smile dropped when I realized the speed he was quickly gaining from being at least a quarter mile above us. Corrina jumped into the air and -with wings extended- caught Orano in a hug and slowed his decent greatly to the ground. They landed gracefully on their feet and Orano smiled greatly. "Orano you idiot!" Tono smashed his fist onto his twin brother's head and a fury of rage. "If Corrina didn't have wings you, Oliver, and her would have been severly injured! Did you think about that?!" He continued scolding his brother as everyone else in the group started gathering around in a somewhat circle. "Help me out here Kara?" Orano whimpered to the green hair girl. She just started chuckling and waved her hand at Tono to go and cool off somewhere else. "Oliver-kun! Are you guys OK?" Hana and Trinity came up to Corrina and I. "Yea, I'm fine. He needs some quick bandaging up to do though." Corrina gave Trinity a small smile and pointed her thin thumb in my direction. I looked down at myself and sighed.
I looked awful. My clothes had dirt and rips in them, my hair was all messed up and all over the place, and I had blood and bruises all over my body. Then a sudden thud made everyone turn their heads and look in shock at the sight before them. "I've finally found you." A deep voice breathed out. A black and red demonic looking wolf with black bat wings was glaring at us with red slit eyes. "Darin..." Corrina muttered. I looked at her and then to the wolf. The pieces of the puzzle aligned themselves and I understood. I took a protective step forward and wrapped my arms around Corrina, pulling her closer to my chest. "You seemed to have taken things to far King Darin. Or should we even call you that anymore?" It was Fredrick that had oddly enough spoken first. "Nice to see you too Fredrick. And I've only come to take back what is mine. She keeps escaping." Darin growled as his eyes flickered to Corrina and I. Corrina wrapped her arms around me and I pulled her in tighter. I wasn't loosing her a third time. "Did you really forget what he did to you Corrina? Do you honestly think that he loved you at all?" I knew Darin was trying to get into Corrina's head, but it wasn't going to work this time.
"Seems like you forgot what I told you from the very beginning." Corrina retorted. "I'm. Not. Marrying. You." I smirked slightly as Darin's face contorted into an even angrier form. "Leave Darin." Rica growled. "Why do you even need Corrina anyway?!" It was Orano now. That question had been pushed back into my mind but now it had resurfaced. Darin smiled evilly with his sharp fangs flashing. "In order to become strong enough to take over the whole universe both the first King and Queen of Vitreous marry each other and use their power together for such purposes. It was written on ancient text millions of years ago and now that scripture shall be fulfilled." He explained. Everyone looked at him with wide eyes. He was the guy with a King in his head and Corrina was the one with the first Queen? This didn't make any sense! "Why didn't you tell me Regina?!" Corrina whisper yelled at the ground. She was obviously starting an argument with the woman in her head. "So the only way for this to work is if you get married? That seems strange." Kara commented. Everyone but Corrina and I nodded in agreement. I had my eyes fixed on the demonic brother of mine in front of me.
Strange as it was the question bothered me a lot though. "Marriage because the two's souls must be bound. Its all written. Now if we could get back to what I'm here for..." Darin sighed as he started barring his teeth at me. "Not in another million years Darin. I'm not losing her to you again." I seethed at him. He growled as got into a position to pounce. Then I felt someone tugging on my shirt. I looked down to the smiling Corrina. "I got this. I know what's wrong." She told me sweetly and untangled herself from my grasp. I heasitated to nod, but finally did after a few moments. What could she be planning?
