He walked you to your apartment door, the cold breeze brushing the hair out of your face. He let go of your hand so she could unlock the door. As they walk in, the smell of the apartment wafted in his face. It smelled of chrysanthemum and lavender.

"I'll be right back",
You said walking into the bedroom. He sat down on the couch and waited.

When you came back out you were holding a familiar black notebook.

"I don't get much use out of this thing",
You told him

"It will still be mine but you can hold onto it for me",
You continued.

He took the book out of your hand and placed it on the coffee table in front of him. He patted the spot next to him and urged you to sit down. You sat down next to him and he looked at you longingly, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

"You should come over for dinner tomorrow",
He told you.

"Yeah, okay."

                                   ~

The phone line at the Kira headquarters rang vigorously before the shriveled hand of a gentle old man picked it up.

"Yes... Yes, would you please hold for a moment?"
He told the person on the other line.

"Ryuzaki, it's Ukita at the NPA. He says he is on the phone with someone from the tip line who has information for us"
He recited back to the ravenette standing in front of him.

"Right... Then send Ukita the information for line 5 and ask him to have the informant call that line instead. It will be safer that way"

Pivoting his body he turned his direction to the dark-haired man sitting on the couch a few paces away from him. The man looks at him curiously as the detective opens his mouth to speak.

"Mr. Matsuda you can turn on your cell phone now. Actually, please turn it on right away."
He continues.

The young officer scrambles to hastily turn on his phone. As soon as he does so, his phone begins to ring annoyingly. In one swift motion, the detective grabs the phone from the man, catching him off guard.

"Yes, this is Suzuki, head of Kira's investigation public information division."
He quickly fabricated

"Raye Penber's fiancee?"
He looked up at the elderly man, slightly taken aback.

"Naomi Misora..."
He continued

Watari started typing, and by the sound of the man's voice, he knew this was important.

I've heard that name before...

As soon as Watari pulls up her information, he flips his monitor screen to face the black-haired detective. Immediate recognition was plastered on his face as he stared at the one of the familiar woman staring back at him through the screen.

So it's her. She's from the Los Angeles BB murder case. That's right...

She was working under me. I guess she must have come to Japan with her fiance.

He stared blankly before narrowing his eyes and humming to himself. He hung up the phone before handing it back to it's owner.

"Well, apparently she's been missing since the day after her fiancee died" he recited to his underlings.

Standing up now, the young officer and his older colleague look at each other in shock.

"I'm sure that anyone in her situation would be pretty depressed"
He stated quietly

"Was it-"

"Suicide"
The wiser man interrupted.

"No the Naomi Misora I knew was strong..."
Their leader said confidently

"Not to mention, she was also an excellent FBI agent. If anything it's more likely that she'd be trying to help catch Kira." He continued.

"It appears that she came to Japan with Penber. It's possible that she may have found a lead."

He stopped himself mid-thought

If that's the case, did Kira manage to get to her first?

He snapped out of thought and turned to his band of detectives.

"Everyone, at this point is, I'd like to focus our investigation on only those who Raye Penber was tailing"
He stated.

"In particular he was assigned to two police officers and those closest to him"
He continued.

The chief director, superintendent Yagami, looked up in surprise at the intelligent young man's words. He opened his mouth to speak.

"Very well, who are these two individuals he was investigating?"
He questioned.

"Deputy Director Kitamura.."

He revealed the first officer without pause but slightly hesitated when uncovering the second.

"...along with Detective Superintendent Yagami and their families".

"At this stage, I'd like to place wiretaps and surveillance cameras in both households"
He says without delay.

The next day finally arrives. The brown-haired boy, eager for dinner with the girl longs for, hastily goes home from school after the bell.

"See you later light"

"Yeah, see you tomorrow..."

He turns the knob to see it has yet to be unlocked.

What? No one's home yet...

He pulls out his key and unlocks the front door, closing it behind him. He takes off his shoes before proceeding further.

"I'm home"
He stated loudly, hoping someone would hear him. However, his previous deduction was correct.

He walked up the stairs to his bedroom.

It was like any other day. He grabbed his door knob but something was... Off. He hesitated but proceeded into his bedroom with caution. He remains silent as he flops on his bed. The shinigami following him desperately tries to get his attention.

"Light, are you listening to me?", the shinigami wailed.

The boy slowly heads over to his closet and opens the door, grabbing a long, tan trench coat before closing the door.

"I DON'T LIKE TO BE IGNORED YOU KNOW!", it continued.

The young man, soon after, leaves the house and walks down the street while checking each pocket thoroughly.

It doesn't look like these clothes have been bugged. I think we're safe.

"HELLO~? YOOHOO~!?" the shinigami cried annoyingly.

"Listen to me...", Light said urgently.

"There is a very strong possibility that there are wire taps, maybe even surveillance cameras, hidden throughout my house" He continued

"HAHA.. so where are we going light?", The monster questioned him.

~

He knocked on your door, anxious for the night to come. As you checked the door you noticed the brown-haired boy nervously waiting on the other side. You opened the door to be met with a delicate kiss on the cheek, causing your face to brighten.

"Are you ready?" he asked you readily

Your heartbeat quickened and your hands became sweaty. You were about to meet your boyfriends' parents. This is a momentous occasion for you.

"As ready as I'll ever be"

~
