Today would have been Light's fifty-third day of confinement, however, after one defining test, L determined that Light was not under Kira's power. 

"Light, from one murderer to another I'll see you in hell!" The chief pulled the trigger of his revolver.

  A loud pop sound filled the car. The boy slowly opened his eyes, which were previously shut tightly. Light huffed, out of breath, and shaken. He looked at his father traumatized and confused.

"It was a blank?"

L decided that the way to truly uncover whether Light was Kira, was to put him in a high-stress situation. Kira obviously wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone, not even his father. So, L devised a scheme to see whether Light would kill him. He instructed the chef to drive Light far away. Part of L's plan was to convince Light that he was found guilty of being Kira and make him believe he was being driven to his execution.

"I'm so sorry, Light. This was the only way to uncover the truth", His father admitted.

You watched through the screen in front of you feeling extremely horrible for your lover. This Light was innocent, not knowing of the death note's existence.

 He is probably so confused

Eventually, you'll understand

The light was driven back to headquarters after passing the test L had set up for him. When they arrived, he ran up to you, encasing you in a long and warm embrace. You could feel him tremble in your arms.  You held him back, running your hands through his hair as he cried onto your shoulder.

"You stink", You giggled, trying to lighten his mood.

"You're the worst", He chuckled a response.

Everyone on the task force, including Misa, watched the interaction and seemed to be confused. Only a little while before Light was locked away, to their knowledge, the two of you hated each other. 

"What about Misa Misa?", Matsuda inquired.

"Well, what about her?", Light answered with another question.

"Isn't she your girlfriend?"

Light shook his head as if to say 'no'.

"Misa is just a rebound", He revealed.

Misa stood there shocked while the task force nodded in understanding. All except for Matsuda.

"But... just three days ago, you cried about 'missing her'".

Light shook his head once more.

"Not her, I meant Y/N", He explained while turning his attention to you.

He grabbed you by your waistline and held you close you him. His grip was so intense that it was almost constricting. He looked down at you with a gentle smile. An innocent one, one you had never seen on him. He almost looked like a different person. You, of course, smiled back at him but everything felt... off... And you knew exactly why...

L finally entered the room. He cleared his throat to speak.

"As promised, Amane will be held in a high-security prison until she is found guilty of being the second Kira. Meanwhile, Light will be at my side 24/7", L explained

"Hey, no fair, You still suspect me?", The blonde whined.

"I really wouldn't push it Misa, your DNA was all over those tapes", Aizawa snapped at her.

"Fine by me, We'll catch Kira together", Light said.

"We'll also be moving headquarters. A few days after I first met Mr. Yagami along with the other members of the task force, I started building an HQ. It has 23 floors, 21 above and 2 below ground. Although it's impossible to see it from below, it has two helicopters hidden on the roof. Y/N shouldn't have any complaints, since she'll have her own floor. Ideally, I'd like for us to spend as much time here as possible", The genius detective explained.

L had pulled out a pair of handcuffs to attach himself and Light. Your eyes widened upon realization as to what was happening.

24/7

"Wait, before you two are inseparable, can light come home with me to help me pack?"

The genius detective had stopped for a moment to think about this. Eventually, though, he agreed to let him go for only three hours.

Light walked you home. Immediately after arriving, you instructed the boy to take a shower and brush his teeth. You had kept some spare clothes for him in your closet, and a toothbrush underneath the sink. He happily obliged, of course. As he hopped in the shower, You packed some things to prepare for your new living situation. 

After about fifteen minutes, you were done packing and after forty- five, Light was done in your bathroom. You sat on your bed and watched as he exited your steamy bathroom with nothing but a towel around his waist. You averted your eyes, darting them to the phone, which was in your hand. You tried to be respectful, but no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't stop watching.

You stared as water droplets from his hair trickled down his abdomen. Trying not to make it so obvious, you turned towards your vanity to not be seen starting at him directly. Ryuk noticed and took much pleasure in taunting you.

"That Light sure is a hit with the ladies, huh?"

Usually, you didn't mind the creature's presence, however, he was starting to get on your nerves. You could only reply with an angry side eye.

You turned your attention back to the mirror only to be caught by the boy, making eye contact with him. At this point though, he only had his shirt left to put on.

"Enjoying the show?", He teased you.

You could feel your cheeks heat up from embarrassment, immediately covering your face to hide the shame.
He walked up to your bed, shirt in hand. You could feel yourself growing redder by the second. He leaned over you and spoke lightly.

"Don't be shy now, you weren't shy when you were gawking at me".

You retorted with a quick response, " I  wasn't gawking!".

"Hm? What were you doing then?", he teased.

You couldn't find an answer because he was right. You sat in silence, his face inches from yours. The tension in the was exceedingly high.

"He got you there", the thing in the corner decided to speak.

You only wished you could respond but you knew what the consequences were if you did. You tried to ignore Ryuk's presence.

"Hm..Thought so", the boy said teasingly.

He stood up straight, finally putting on his shirt. He offered his hand, helping you up off of the bed. Light  dialed Watari while you put away a few things you remembered last minute. Light asked him to bring the car to your apartment to aid in the moving of your things.

You got in the limo and waited for the men to pack your things into the vehicle. And with that, you were out of that retched apartment for good.
