I sigh and as I sit next to Ellie. she's all jumpy and smiling alot.

I block her out as the principal walks out with a mirophone.
"good afternoon, boys and girls." the school cheers back in response. "we have a special gift for a girl. its late but it's worth it."
"what is it?" someone yells. the principal chuckles.
"come on out."

my mom walks out, holding my sisters hand. they're both grinning ear to ear. I knit my eyebrows together. the football team walks out, surrounding someone. I can't see who but know it's a man. they stop beside my family. then principal starts talking again.
"the gift is a special gift. this gift hasn't been home in seven years. his family hasn't seen him in seven years. this girl hasn't seen him in seven years." tears fill my eyes. "boys, you can move."

they do so. I gasp seeing the man. the tall, muscular blonde man. he's wearing his uniform. he's my father.
"hayden? come on down and greet your present." I don't waste anytime. I stand up and kids move so I can get through. I run down the stairs to the bleachers and run across the gym to my dad.

tears stream down my face. he grins seeing me running towards him. I run and jump on him. the impact makes him fall over. my arms cling to his neck. his around my waist. he sits up as he nuzzle his head in my neck.
"oh my god." he breathes. we both stand up. me now hugging his torso.
"you're home."
"I am, baby girl." tears stream down my face.
"how?"
"that boyfriend of yours. he's a keeper." I grin. "forgive him. he loves you." I bite my lip and nod.
"I missed you."
"I missed you too. now go. he's behind you." he grins and kisses my forehead. I turn around and see devin.

he grins. I grin as more tears fall. I run for him and jump on him too. my legs around his waist. me catches the back of my thighs and nuzzles his head in my neck.
"I love you, devin."
"I love you more, babygirl." I cry even harder.

I admitted my love yo my boyfriend. my dad is home. my family is together. life couldn't get any worse.

or so I thought.

-

its only a month after my dad came home.

we've done a lot together. we've went out to the movies, dinner and even just walking around. its been so fun.

i missed my dad so much. I mean, how couldn't I. he was gone for seven years. he missed a lot in them seven years. my graduation and several other events. I missed him alot.

not only did he hang with me, he did with my sister and my mom.

I sit cuddle up on the couch. devin went back home for a little bit. he'll be back next week, I think. maybe earlier. he doesn't know yet.

I hear crying coming from up stairs and knit my eyebrows together. I sigh and throw the blanket off me. I stand up and stretch. I walk up the stairs and figure out the crying is coming from my parents room. I stand in the door way. my mom is crying on the bed and my dad is trying to comfort her. he's in his uniform.
"mom? dad? what's going on?" I ask. their heads snap to me.
"come here, sweetie." my mom says. tears keep going down her cheeks. I slowly walk and sit beside her.

seeing my dad is his uniform, I know what's happening. tears fill my eyes.
"you're leaving aren't you?" I ask my dad softly. he sighs.
"I'm sorry, sweetie." a few tears fall. "I have to go. they need me."
"I understand, dad." I say.
"sweetie, I think you need to get away for a while. call devin and see if you can stay at his house for awhile." I nod.
"I love you guys. I'll me be home soon." I nod. "I love you too." I say softly.

he pulls me into a hug. I hug his neck.
"be safe, daddy."
"I will, hayden." he kisses my forehead and I get up.

I walk to my to and pull my phone out. I scroll to Devin's name. I press call and wait for him to answer.
"hey, baby. what's up?" I sniffle. "hayden, are you okay?" I sigh.
"my dads leaving. he's going back to the army."
"I'm so sorry."
"it's fine. they need him. I understand." I sigh and wipe my eyes. "i, um, my mom's thinks it'd be best if I get away from home for a while.."
"you can come here. my mom's been dying to meet you anyway."
"really?"
"yeah, babe. you can back a bag or two for a few months and we can stay here for awhile. you can switch to online school like me." I smile.
"okay. sounds like a plan. I'll plan it out with my mom."
"okay. call me when you have it planned."
"alright, babe."
"bye. see you later."
"see you later."

-

my mom and I planned it all out. I'm all packed and ready to go to Devin's.

I have a suitcase and duffel bag with everything I'll need.

I had texted devin and told him I was on my way. he responded with a yay and hurry. I giggled at the text and hurried to change.

I slipped on my leggings. it was now December. I slip on a red sweater and my uggs. the sweaters Devin's. I have a lot of his clothing. I straighten my hair and grab my phone.

mom already put my bags in the car. I help grace into her car seat and we head off to devins.

-

"hayden!" I hear a voice yell. we had just pulled up to Devin's house. or at least I think we did. ive been alseep since half way here.
"hayden, were here!" I groan but open my eyes. I look up at the house and see devin standing in yard. he's boucing on the balls of his feet.

I ignore my family but hear their laughter as I race to devin. he grins as he sees me jump out of the car. I make sure not to fall in the snow and race to devin. he chuckles and captures me in a hug.

I smile and hug my boyfriend. I missed him so much.
