Dragon's Tale Book Two

End of the Beginning

Blake glared into Adam's eyes as he raised his katana. Dakkon, using most of his strength, raised his hand and fired an energy blast into Adam's shoulder and he turned around. When Adam turned back, Blake faded away and Adam looked behind him again. He then saw Blake, carrying Yang with her, running past Dakkon

Since Dakkon was unable to see the damage at first, an anger began to spark when he saw how much of her arm Yang had lost. Adam began walking towards Dakkon, laughing at his state

Adam: you think you can beat me like that?

Dakkon said nothing, still looking in the spot where he saw the damage done to Yang. A Creep jumped at Adam, and he sliced it down with ease. He still waited on an answer from Dakkon, but only heard the grinding of his teeth as his anger grew. Back at the vault Cinder and Professor Ozpin were in a standoff as Cinder decided to begin small chatter

Cinder: this whole time, right beneath our feet. she was right about you...

Professor Ozpin lightly threw his cane in the air and grabbed it by the handle like a sword

Cinder: such arrogance

Professor Ozpin said nothing in return, and instead only glared at her. He then readied his cane and entered his fighting stance. Cinder stopped smirking and did the same. The two then charged at each other and began to move at great speeds, clashing with each other along the way. Fire exploded from Cinder's blades upon every moment of contact

The two couldn't get a clean hit on the other, yet they both continued to move around the entire vault and clash. Eventually Professor Ozpin managed to get a clean hit with his cane. Cinder slides back and places her hand into the ground to break her momentum. As she slid back, the floor where her hand had been began to melt

Cinder then raised her arms and created shards from the melting ground. Cinder threw the shards at Professor Ozpin, and he merely stares at the incoming projectiles. In an instant before they hit him, Professor Ozpin moves at a speed that creates after images. Leaving none of the projectiles to hit him. Professor Ozpin then rushed in and used that same speed to hit Cinder's stomach over and over again

Professor Ozpin struck her more than twenty times in that instant, then one more powerful strike that sent her back. Cinder activated her Fall Maiden powers to stop herself from going any further back. The emitted flames surrounded her and illuminated the room. The shockwave it created forced Professor Ozpin to plant his cane into the ground to maintain balance

Cinder then focused her flames into a concentrated pillar of fire. She then hurled it at Professor Ozpin, and he jumped at it. Before he connected with it, Professor Ozpin created a barrier around himself. When the fire made contact with his barrier, it broke apart and created another shockwave. Outside the vault Professor Port and Doctor Oobleck were evacuating civilians

Port: that's it, everybody on board! This is a mandatory evacuation!

Oobleck: a safe zone has been established in Vale! Please, remain calm and listen to Atlas personnel!

From the back of the docks, Weiss looked down in horror and covered her mouth in shock. When she heard footsteps from behind her, Weiss turned around to see Ruby. Her expression changed into relief upon seeing her leader

Weiss: Ruby!

Ruby: oh, I found you!

Weiss: Ruby, where have you-
