Out in the open sea between the small island of Menagerie and the four Kingdoms of Remnant, a single ship cruised in the space. On the ship were mainly travellers with a small amount of people moving back home or to stay temporarily. One person in particular, a Faunus, was on the ship, Blake. Blake stared out onto the blue ocean floor with nothing but a flurry of concerned and worried emotions
The sounds of children's laughter and chatter gained her attention, but only distracted her from her thoughts for a few seconds. When she turned back around, she was caught off guard by the voice of an old but calm man
Captain: travelling alone?
Blake turned around and grabbed the handle of Gambol Shroud, ready to defend herself. When she saw who it was her facial expression became more relaxed. The captain then raised his hands but maintained his calm tone
Captain: now, now. No threat here. Just here to chat
Blake rolled her eyes and released her grip from Gambol Shroud
Blake: and why is that?
Captain: well...
The captain sighs as he turns around and leans against the railing
Captain: not many people travel by boat on their own. It can be quite a lonely voyage. But I found those that do, ten to have the more... interesting stories
Blake clenched her fist, then turned around to lean against the railing as well
Blake: maybe it's just better for some people to be alone
Children run and scream in a playing manner past Blake. In response, she jumps and turns around. Both she and the captain see what was actually happening and the captain gives a small laugh
Captain: maybe. But with your paranoia I think a few friendly faces wouldn't hurt
Blake: who says I'm paranoid?!
The captain laughs again as Blake looks away with a slight anger beginning to fume
Captain: no one, dear. No one. I'll leave you be
The captain walks off back to the bridge, but stops to say one last thing
Captain: but uh, fair warning, these trips can be awfully boring
Blake watches the captain turn the corner then looks back out at the sea. She then raises her arms and reaches for the bow on her head. Blake unties the bow and holds it in her hand
Blake: won't be needing this
Blake let's go of the untied bow and it floats down to the sea floor. Blake then walks away from the railing to reach some shade. Some distance from where she was standing, a hooded figure watches as she disappears from their sight. The hooded figure then goes to follow her. Down near Blake's old bow, the fins of a Sea Feilong pass by it, then disappear back underneath the water
Over in Patch, Yang sat alone on the couch of the Xiao Long household. With nothing to do, Yang could hear every ticking second of the clock on the wall. She looks to her side to see a pile of books, then grabs the remote next to her and turns on the television. The television shows static then a barely clear broadcast comes through
Reporter: ...with no end in sight. Try as they might, the local Huntsman and Huntresses can't seem to get a hold of the situation at Beacon Academy...
Yang changes the channel, but the same story is shown
