(Third Person POV)

The five VKs were all sitting at a picnic table under the trees, mushing their food around their trays solemnly as none of the teens had an appetite after this afternoon's altercation. Harry himself could only wonder where Ruby was at the moment and hoped things wouldn't be awkward between them when he saw her next. His face twisted as he felt a ping of embarrassment once he realized what he had done definitely wasn't gonna fly with her family, there goes a good first impression. But why should he care what some girl's family thinks of him? When the hell has that ever bothered him? But who am I kidding, she's not just some girl... He thought to himself, suddenly pent up with frustration as he shoved his tray away from him on the table and sighed.

"Hey guys, how is everyone?" Prince Ben said as he came up to the group's table with a smile, hoping to diffuse the situation and lighten up the mood. "Hey listen, forget about it. Alright? Forget about it let it go." He said and made his way over to Mal "After the coronation, I promise everything will be okay." He said and bent down to Mal to whisper to her privately, the girl herself holding a somber and longing look "I have to go... I'll see you guys later." He finished before taking his leave, not even sparing a glance at the other table behind them.

"Listen Evie I wanna talk about earlier I just..." Doug had said as he came to the VK's table, Chad called his name as if he were ordering him over like a dog.

"It's my fault Doug I'm so sorry-" Evie said to him softly with a pleading look as Chad beckoned him again.

"What?" He finally said to Chad who gave him a knowing look like he didn't need to say more. Harry's blood boiled at the fact that people like that didn't just dwell on the Isle, and Chad was the perfect, imperfect example of that.

"Doug..." Evie pleaded sadly to him almost in disbelief.

"Sorry I can't..." He finally said and backed away before sitting back at the table with his other friends. Evie had a flat but sour look on her face as she too pushed her tray of food away from her on the table.

"How long do they think that's gonna last?" Audrey taunted as she and Jane sauntered slowly past the VK's table "They're just the bad boy and bad girl infatuation."

"Yeah, I mean he's never gonna make a villain, a queen~," Jane said sickeningly after she got right down to Mal's level "And a Pirate Prince? You. Wish." She finished in a whisper, both girls cackling as they walked away. Harry just looked down as he tried to block off any retaliating emotion as Mal, close to tears, whipped out her spell book and found what she wanted quickly before citing.

"Beware, foreswear, undo Jane's hair..." the half-dark fairy flicked her finger around to cast the spell before a scream of terror was heard from behind her and laughing from more girls "There's a lot more where that came from." She warned threateningly after all of the VKs had stood, glaring daggers at the royals in front of them.

"Excuse me, who do you think you are?" Audrey spat at the "audacity".

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Mal fired back before appearing to furiously search through her spell book, promptly making the royals scatter in fear. She exhaled through her nose with a satisfying grin as she turned to her friends "I'm really looking forward to Friday, let's grab that wand and blow this popsicle stand." She said and started to make her way across the field, the others following confidently towards the school.

Somewhere in the courtyard as the sun was about to set, Ruby was sadly saying goodbye to her family as they wouldn't see each other till winter break, hugging each one of them in a vice grip like she never wanted to let go.
