It was Friday noon, almost 1pm, to be specific. The rest of the week Jc and her had small talk. They wouldn't really have a conversation, Cindy was next to him the whole time. Maybe because she didn't know anyone but him, or she just wasn't comfortable. Although, Gigi tried to get closer to her but each time Cindy would shut her down. She didn't understand why, she didn't give her a reason to.
It was still snowing outside, and Jc had taken Cindy out to ski, for her first time. Gigi was already tired of watching tv, and sleeping. She would just sit down on the couch looking around. She would also help Karen with dinner and breakfast.
Gigi had decided to bake some cookies for the night to keep herself occupied until Tomorrow. Since it would be her birthday. As she put the tray on the oven. Karen called her from the living room.
—¡Gigi!—
—¿Yes?—she yelled back—Someone is on the phone asking for you—she smiled walking to her with it in her hand.
—¿Me?—she questioned herself—Yes, you— Gigi looked surprised but thanked her, she grabbed the phone and answered.—¿uh hello?—
—Hey, it's me Brian—
—Hey, how have you been?—she smiled, hearing his voice.—I'm doing great, how about you?—he sounded excited over the phone.
—I'm making cookies, to distract myself honestly—she laughed sitting down on the couch. —You better not burn them—he laughed along with her.
They spent hours talking on the phone. To the point where she had forgot about the cookies, Karen helped her taken them out. She saw from far how cheerful Gigi sounded once again. The whole time she seemed quiet and tired, the call had uplift her. Whoever had called her, she was thankful for.
Karen had noticed the separation of jc and Gigi's. There was an awkward feeling between them.
—Hey ma.—he greeted her walking inside the house with his gear.—¿Are those cookies?—he asked, looking at the tray behind her—Gigi made them.—
—Even better. I love her baking—he smiled, stuffing his mouth with two of them. Cindy looked at him bothered by it.—¿You want one?—he asked her.
—No, thank you—she said, pushing the cookie away from her. He shrugged and took a bite of it.
—¿Where is she?—he asked his mom, still eating.—On the phone, she's been glued to it since 2 it's almost 6–
—¿On the phone? ¿With who?—
—I'm not sure, I think it was a boy. When I answered the phone, a heard a males voice—
He walked over to the living room where she was. She was laying on the couch, laughing hard from whatever she was hearing on the phone. She had her legs crossed, smiling non stop to the call. Something a flirty teenager would do when they liked someone.
—Alright, I'll let you go. It's late and I need to help with dinner, call me when you can.—
—Okay, bye. Take care—she said her goodbyes and hanged up the phone.
—Hey Jc—she smiled at him as she got up from the couch. —¿Who was it?—he asked curious.
—Oh it was Brian. He was just asking how I was doing—
—That's cool...—he dragged the word—I like the cookies you made today—
—Good, I didn't make a lot though.—she walked to the stairwell.—¿Where are you going?—he asked her, why was she going to close herself in her room again?
