—¿At what time are you leaving?—asked Jc walking into her room, leaning onto her doorframe. —Like in a hour. I'm just packing a few things.—she turned around to face him.
—¿Do you really have to go? ¿Can't you stay a little longer?—he said in a sad tone, he really didn't want his girlfriend to go. —I have to, but I'll see you soon.—she rubbed his cheek softly with her thumb.
—I know but I was hoping to spend New Years with you.—he smiled lightly. turning to her hand, kissing it. —Me too but I'm sure there's always next year.—
—You're right—he sighed—You're going to call me ¿right?—he asked. —Everyday—she giggled, reaching up to kiss his cheek. —I love you Gigi—he whispered, she felt his hot breath touching the skin of her neck.
—I love you too —
—Alright. I better put my bags inside the car before I get in trouble by my dad—she laughed, turning around picking her things from the ground. Jc saw her bend down, his eyes were glued to a place he really shouldn't be looking.
—I like those jeans on you—he blurted out, not knowing he had said it out loud. —¿What?—she asked confused, he felt his cheeks get red from what he had said. —I mean, you look great babes. You always do, I'm just saying— he tried to cover up.
—You're so gross.— she rolled her eyes, pushing him away.—¿What? I can't compliment my girlfriend—she questioned. —Yes you can but why don't we use other compliments— she laughed.
—Let me help you with your bags—he grabbed them from her hands. They both walked down stairs to find her family ready to go. She said goodbye to everyone, to Jc'a siblings, parents and their friends. She gave Jc a final hug, promising him to call once she arrived for him to not be worried.
Right after saying their goodbyes they hit the road, on their way back to town. Gigi spent it sleeping like always. She only woke up twice and that was to stop at a gas station. After a few hours they arrived home at night.
Gigi was so tired, she left her bags inside the car heading straight to bed. She even forgot to call Jc. Tiredness has taken over here the whole night. That next morning she woke up to the sounds of laughter coming from the living room. She assumed they had arrived from the airport.
She went inside her restroom, taking a shower to start off the day. She brushed her hair, put on a little bit of make up and then changed to freshly clothes. She was about to go down stairs until she remembered to call Jc. She went inside her room to make a call on her telephone. She waited for a while until she heard someone's voice.
—¿hello?— they asked, it was Jc— Hey, I forgot to call last night. We got home so late I went straight to bed—she explained. He laughed and said it was okay, he assumed she did that so he didn't bother to call.
—I gotta go, but I'll call you at night, okay?— he agreed and said their goodbyes. Gigi walked downstairs to find everyone in the living room talking. The first person to notice her was Charlie. He stood up from the sofa and walked to her with a smile.
—Hey—he said cheerfully. She smiled lightly—Hi Charlie—
—It's been a long while since I've seen you. How have you been?—he scratched the back of his head nervously. It had been a long while since they last saw each other. —I've been great. Dad told me your in college, how's that going?—
—Oh, it's really great. Following the footsteps of my father—he leaned on the stairwell railing.—I heard you're studying to be a lawyer as well. I'm glad to hear that.—
—Yeah, so how's high school? Do you have any colleges in mind?—she shook her head in a no. She knew it was time to start doing college applications it just didn't feel right still. —I see, keep in mind the one I'm at. It's not a bad option, maybe you can also follow your dad's footsteps as well.—
