I walked home since I didn't have my car or a ride, I checked my watch it was currently almost 3 am. I know it was unsafe to be out but I couldn't be in the same place with Jc, at least for now.

As my shoes stepped on the rocky road I felt a strong breeze hit my skin making me having goosebumps all over my body. From far I saw someone running on the other side of the road, i felt their eyes onto me. I tired to ignore it until I heard them say.

—¿Gigi?—they yelled confused, it was Brian. He walked up to me, still confused by what was I doing outside in the middle of the night.

—I'm so glad it was you, I thought it was someone else—I said in relief, he only laughed

—I was just running, I can't sleep. Why are you out so late?—he asked worried—Jc's party—I answered—Well you don't sound too excited about it. Did something happened?—he looked concerned as he took a seat on the sidewalk, he gave a light tap next to him, inviting me to sit down with him.

—He kissed me—

I saw his expression change, surprised by it and kept his head down. He looked at me again and laughed from it. Which I didn't understand , what was funny?

—¿Why are you laughing?—i asked him—Come on Gigi, we all knew this was going to happened.—he shook his head with a smile.

—No I didn't. He's my best friend, just my best friend—I defended myself, but was I being honest? Probably Not

—Gigi, you want to know the reason why I stoped talking to you?—by his tone I knew it was sincere.

—you never really told me. I thought you would come and visit me.—my head went down, I still felt hurt by it. The wound was still fresh but closing.

—I know, I'm truly sorry. You didn't deserve that. The reason I left you and didn't reach out to you was because of Jc and you. You guys were so close and I felt that he saw you more than just his friend. I knew I had no chance with you if he was in your life. But i didn't want you to give up on a friendship because I told you.—he looked down, playing with the pebbles on the road.

—I would never leave Jc.—I said truthfully— I know, that's why I gave up on you.—he smiled—You've always been too good for me. I really did want you as my girlfriend. When I first saw you I was mesmerized by you, your energy, your smile. I thought you would be mine— he left everything out, I didn't say anything, I stayed c quiet until he asked me something I wish I could answer myself.

—¿Do you like Jc?—

—I don't know. A part of me does but a part of me says I shouldn't. I can't ruin our relationship.—

—He kissed you, so he ruined it first plus I'm sure he just wants the upgrade of  best friend to lovers—he winked at me.

—Be quiet—I laughed by what he said— It's all up to you and him. Remember there's no going back to what things were.—

—I know and I hate the thought of that. Everything is going to change so fast—

—I'm not trying to be rude but you should get going. It's really late, it's not good for a young lady to be out at night.—

—You're right, thanks Brian— I hugged him and then got up.

—I'll walk you home—

[...]

—¿What the hell was that?—asked Joey confused by what everyone had witnessed. Gigi running out the house with such a hurry. They all caught a glimpse of her tears on her way out.

Next thing they see is Jc walking down the stairs, upset.

—¿Dude what the hell happened?—asked Justin worried to see his friend in that state.

—We kissed.—was all he said.

Everyone looked at each other with the same face. Justin looked at him saying —I thought you were kidding. You actually kissed her?!—

—¡Yes! I told you, I didn't even get to tell her what I feel for her.—he said looking down

—Oh shit—said Chris— It happening the group is going to split up—he panicked

—The group isn't splitting up you dumb nut—Said lance annoyed.

—It's not a mistake, I meant it. I can't afford to lose her now...—

—You won't lose her Jc. Let me just talk to her—Britney walked over to both boys who were standing up.

—No Brit. Stay out of it, all of you stay out of it.—he looked at everyone—Don't stress Gigi. This is between her and me.—

—¿What did she say?—asked Joey

—That's she needed to go home. Oh fuck!—he realized—its the middle of the night. Fuck! her dad is going to kill me. I never leave her alone at night—he panicked looking for his keys.

—I need to go find her—was the last thing he said before leaving the house in a hurry.

He got inside his truck and started the engine. He needed to make sure she got home safe. He was on the road until he noticed Brian running in the sidewalk. Maybe he saw her go home.

—Hey Brian, did you see Gigi around?—he asked him, he put everything aside he just needed to know if he had seen her.

—I walked her home. She's okay Jc, but you should talk to her—

—¿What did she say?—he asked him—That you kissed her. She's scared—

Jc rested his head in the steering wheel of his truck—Thank you for getting her home safe, i owe you one—

—Don't worry about it. That's what teammates are for—he gave him a light smile.

¿Was Jc mad? No. Was he jealous? Maybe a little. But he didn't care all he wanted to know was if she arrived home. He drove back home to find everyone passed out in the couch and the floor.

He went up to his room for some blankets and threw them over their bodies. He went inside his bathroom and took a shower. He couldn't stop thinking about her... the kiss.

he looked down to his wrist, the yellow bracelet. He just needed to talk to her... explain everything to her so she could understand.

The whole night he couldn't sleep from s9 many thoughts. The next morning, he wanted to call home and ask for her. He felt the urge to drive over there to see her.
But he didn't, he respected her personal time.

—Justin. Why does this kiss feel like a mistake now?—Jc asked as he closed his locker, staring at Gigi who was across the hallway laughing with Nick, about who knows what.

—Maybe it is.—

—But I knew she wanted it, I felt it. She wanted it as much as me...—

—Think about it Jc. You've been best friends your whole life. You can't just move to one thing to another without consequences. It's a sudden change.—

—I'll talk to her during the family pictures—

—¿You still do that?—Justin asked confused—Yes Justin, our families still do that.—

—¿Why don't you date Cindy? I mean look at her—Justin, pointing her out in the crowd—¿Cindy? Come on Justin you know why I love Gigi—He said, looking at Cindy who quickly looked away once their eyes met.

—Im just saying if things don't go the way you want to. You have a backup— he shrugged his shoulders. Jc looked at him and rolled his eyes by what his friend said.

They walked to class, and went to lunch but she didn't sit with them, or the next. He only saw from far how she spent her laughs and smiles on other boys who weren't him. Was she really going to ignore what happened between them?
