POV Rosalie

The next day is our day off and I don't even know what to do with myself.

"Hey, Rosie, do you want to come join the Dauntless born in a little game of 'What If'?" Miles asks at breakfast.

"Just Rosalie?" Sidney asks.

"It's me introducing my girlfriend to my friends. Next time it can be girlfriend and friends to friends." Miles promises.

"No, that makes perfect sense. My bad." He says, hands up in defense.

"Thank you." He says to my pushy best friend.

"Yes, I will go play this game of 'What If'." I say.

"Shall we then?" He asks, offering me his hand.

"I'll see you later." I say to Sidney, Jeremy, and Lucy. Lucy winks at me with a smirk on her lips.

Miles slips his fingers through mine as we walk across the Pit.

"So this place is kind of like a game room/meeting room/bar area. Since it's during the day it'll be quieter." Miles explains to me as we walk up the ramp to the third floor of holes in the Pit that hold God knows what. When we walk in I see that Katy is already being guarded. Good.

"Welcome to the party, Rosalie." Zeke says with a smile.

"Thank you."

"We're going to start with the couple of honor. Up you go." Zak says, pushing Miles and I onto the stage. He arranges card and looks at us. "Okay, so we already know this dickhead has already presented, so Miles, if Rosalie is a beta, what will you do?"

"Keep her. She's mine."

"Rosalie, say you hadn't been dating Miles, where would you have transferred?"

"Still Dauntless."

"Miles, if Rosalie gets cut, what will you do?"

"Follow her."

"Rosalie, what will you do when I tell you that I had overheard Miles say that he would rather jump into the Chasm than put up with the pain and worry that comes with being an alpha in Dauntless?" Zak asks.

My jaw drops slightly and I look at Miles in fear and horror. A horrible pain starts in my chest and my mind turns into a jumbled mess that makes it hard to concentrate.

"That's not what I said. He's taking it out of context and twisting my words." Miles says, turning to me.

"You said..."

"Shit. She's presenting. Zeke, Miles, follow me." Skyler says, taking my arms.

"If she dies, this is on you." Miles growls out menacingly to Zak, taking me from Skyler.

I'm led into a room that Zeke has to enter a code to get into. The two of them sit close to the door while I just stand in the middle of the room, the pain getting worse by the second. Miles stands in front of me, holding one of my arms and is saying something. Whatever he said brings clarity to my mind.

"There's my beautiful girl. Can you please let me explain?" He begs and I nod slowly. "I told you I would go to Oliver to help me after you told me about your aptitude test, do you remember that?" He asks and I nod again. "He told me that the only thing he doesn't regret about his mating is his children, that the pain isn't worth it. I was clarifying when I said that jumping off the Chasm is better than the pain of constantly worrying about your mate. That's not how I feel, baby, I promise."

"How do you feel?" I whisper almost inaudibly.

"I'm thankful for it. The pain means that the bond is still there. It means that you're alive and still here. I would rather worry my ass off than anything else." He says. I can feel the pain in my chest slowly lessen.

"What's happening to me?"

"Your omega thought I was rejecting you. She thought I was breaking the bond. Alphas and omegas are both strong, powerful, headstrong beings, but omegas are more sensitive and submissive, but only submissive to their mate. If our bond had broken then you would have died. I would have survived, but I would be a shell of a man. Rosalie, I cannot live without you. You die, I die. If I hadn't explained in time and you died then I actually would have jumped off the Chasm." Miles says. I close my eyes and relax further as the pain leaves.

"I don't understand what's going on with me." I admit.

"Zeke, Skyler, out." Miles orders harshly. Once the door is closed behind them Miles turns back to me. "Rosie, you're presenting. The fear brought your omega forward."

"Why do I feel this way?"

"When an omega presents they go into heat."

"I'm not ready for kids!" I say worriedly, holding onto Miles tightly. He strokes my cheek and grips my arm a bit tighter.

"It's okay, baby. You won't get pregnant when you present."

"I don't understand." I say miserably.

"Do you trust me?"

"With everything I am."

"I know how to help you. You need to just do as directed and everything will be okay, but you need to know something." He says. I'm having to force myself to focus more. It's getting harder. Miles grips my chin and looks me dead in the eyes. "Omega, one more moment and then you may merge with Rosalie properly."

"That was weird." I say as I gain clarity again and he chuckles.

"I know, baby. Now, when mates help the other when they present they claim each other. In Dauntless we have to register when we claim our mates, so we will be married. Even without the legality of it you and I will be tied together for life." He warns me. "I will go into more detail and explain everything afterwards, but you need to know what will happen while your omega makes herself comfortable within your body."

"A lot of sex and us tying ourselves to each other?" I ask and he nods.

"For a week."

"And then you will explain all this because I'm confused."

"Yes, as much as I can. My mom can come help since she's an omega." Miles promises. "Now, I think my omega is as impatient as my Rosalie, so I am going to fuck you."

"Thank God." I say, leaping at him and kissing him hard and rough. He turns us so I slam into the wall, taking my hands and pinning them above my head, reminding me who is in charge.
