POV Third Person
At lunch every conversation is brought to a stand still when they hear an extreme amount of fighting in the Pit, more than the usual. Everyone goes to see what's happening-the naïve transfers leading the way. In the middle of the Pit is every Dauntless born initiate screaming over each other and obviously barely holding back from physically fighting.
"What is going on?" Sidney bellows.
"This fucker forced Rosalie to present as an omega by making her think that Miles was breaking their mate bond which could kill her!" Shauna explains, pointing to Zak.
"She's fine! You're over-" Katy starts but is cut off by Lucy's fist in her mouth. Soon everyone is fighting to get to Zak, Katy, and Zak's other supporter Casey. The fighting only stops when those that fight for entertainment, leadership, Amar, Lauren, and Faction Guards that are on their week off rush forward to separate everyone.
"That's enough! Luke, Brad, can you start to get those that need the infirmary there?" Max orders. The entertainment fighters start with Zak, Katy, and Casey since they're the worst off. The others just have bruises and will be fine while those three will need work.
"Should we start Phase Three now, so that if anyone presents then they'll be done by the time Miles and Rosalie are done?" Lauren asks.
"Yes." Max says. He looks at Veronica and lowers his voice. "Ronnie, Miles is with his mate. He'll be okay."
"Will he? What if he couldn't fix this in time?"
"We'll find out if he did and then we'll deal with this." Max assures her.
"So we start Phase Three tomorrow?" Amar asks.
"I'd say start it now. Tempers are high and nerves are on edge." Veronica says. The two trainers nod their understanding.
"SHUT UP!" Amar bellows over the verbally fighting initiates. The Faction Guards are having to keep them all separated again, the returned entertainers having to help out. Everyone settles enough, but Sidney, Lucy, Jeremy, and Tobias still look ready to kill.
"As calmly as you can manage, explain what the hell happened." Veronica orders.
"Miles brought Rosalie to the Game Room, an induction into the pack kind of thing. We started with a game of 'What If'. Zak was asking the questions and he told Rosalie that Miles thought it would be easier to jump off the Chasm than deal with the chest pain from his worrying about her safety all the time." Zeke says. The Guards have to hold Rosalie's friends back as they try to move forwards again.
"What happened after that?" Veronica asks.
"Well, Miles and Rosalie are mates, right? And Rosalie had just been told that her mate would rather die than worry about her, so she presented." Shauna continues.
"Zeke and I got the two of them into that locked room that you need a code to get into and Miles had to force Rosalie to hear him out and explain. Miles doesn't think that, his words had been twisted."
"What-happened?" Jeremy demands through clenched teeth.
"My dad thinks that it would be easier to jump into the Chasm than deal with the pain. When Miles had said that he had just been clarifying my dad's words. That's not what Miles thinks. Miles calmed Rosalie down and now he's helping her through her presenting." Zeke says.
"What's this omega and mates and pack and presenting crap?" Eric asks.
"And thus begins Phase Three." Amar says.
"Is Rosalie okay?" Lucy demands.
"Yes. Miles explained in time. Now he's just fucking her through her heat." Zeke promises.
