POV Third Person
The six initiates that were on the Purple platoon walk into the cafeteria and find their friends fairly easily.
"How was your 'Chosen Ones' day?" Christina asks Will and Tris bitterly.
"What happened to the two of you?" Al asks, seeing the bruises forming on his friends.
"We were taken on a trial run of the Middle route." Will says.
"A trail run? What, like you ran the route as if you were already Faction Guards?" Christina asks.
"Yeah. We were in two groups, half the usual platoon and half the initiates and ran the route." Tris says.
"Why you guys?" Christina demands.
"We're who Rosalie and Sidney chose to report to the commander about and he offered us an invitation."
"What kind of invitation?" Al asks.
"To be apart of the Middle or Amity platoons after initiation." Tris answers. Christina stands up and leaves the cafeteria.
"You think that's fair?" Al asks.
"We just went where we were told and did as we were ordered, Al. We didn't even know we had the invitation until last night." Tris says.
"Why didn't you tell us yesterday?"
"We were told not to tell anyone." Will defends. Al sighs and follows Christina. "That went well."
POV Rosalie
The next day I give Four the note from his mother.
"I hate her with a deep burning passion." I say as I hand it over. "I told her that you're happy here, but I was still given this."
"Thanks." Four says, pocketing the note.
"Have you heard from the initiates?" Eric asks.
"Nope, but that can be a good thing. It just means they're being pissy children instead of getting physical revenge."
"For now." Eric mumbles.
"Thank you, I needed that thought in my head." Four says sarcastically.
"What are the ranks?" I ask and Four hands me the clipboard.
"They're going to be confused." He warns.
"Let them they were our choices. If they have questions, concerns, or complaints they can come to us." Sidney says.
"And then be duct taped for them." I tack on and Sidney snorts his amusement at that.
I flip over the board to hide it from them and write on it in big bold letters
FOR ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, OR CONCERNS PLEASE REPORT TO SIDNEY. ERIC, FOUR, AND ROSALIE COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR DISCOMFORT WITH YOUR SCORES!
"Well, someone's in a mood." Four teases and I toss the chalk at him.
"It always freaks me out when I see him laughing and smiling." Sidney says.
"Mia and my family see it all the time."
"I'm not family?" Sidney asks, pretending to be offended.
"No." Four and I say in unison and Eric snorts in amusement.
I'm working on the coffee I'd grabbed from the cafeteria when the initiates walk in. Four and Eric look at Sidney at me.
"Balls." I complain and there's chuckling from the initiates. I sigh and stand in the raised ring with Sidney.
