POV Rosalie
I'm dozing lazily when Max walks in.
"I'm glad you're awake!" He says loudly.
"Kind of." Sidney says tiredly.
"Rosalie, I need you to write up a report on the assignment and then look over what you missed of initiation before planning out the last bit of it." Max says, handing me a computer and stack of files.
"Isn't writing up reports a leader's job, therefore Wonderboy's?" Sidney asks.
"Wonderboy is currently transferring the five factionless that was the cause of our problems to Candor. Rosalie is here and knows what happened, so she can do it." Max says in a hard voice.
"This is the last thing, Max. I know what you're doing. You're trying to get me to become a leader by giving me their duties. After this, I finish healing, get my week off, and then it's back to my regular schedule. I told you, I don't want to be a leader." I say. Max looks like he swallowed a lemon, but nods his head.
"In that case, Sidney can write the report on the assignment and you can work on the plans."
"Hold on, what? I never wanted to be a leader either."
"Good luck." Max says before walking out. Sidney looks at me incredulously.
"Welcome to my world." I grumble, getting to work.
Hours later Sidney and I are still working on the assignments from Max, him having made it excessively harder than it had to be.
"Hey, do you remember what happened on day 16?" Sidney asks me.
"Isn't that the day Legend had to keep Quarterback from shooting ALF?"
"No, no that was day 4." Sidney says. I look up from my papers at that.
"Seriously? We only lasted four days before trying to kill him?" I ask in shock and Sidney nods, actually laughing. "Yikes. Okay, um...day 16...safe house 3?"
"Day 11."
"Jesus, my memory sucks." I say and he snorts his amusement.
"How did you get where you are today again?" He asks.
"You can be able to aim and still have a shit memory. Besides, the landscape all looked the same and everyday Brainy and/or ALF pissed me off, it all started to run together."
"Brainy!" Sidney and I say in unison.
"It was the day we all found out Brainy and ALF had been using their patrols to go off and fuck." Sidney says. "How did you forget that?"
"I don't care enough about them and it didn't effect the mission enough to remember it."
"Ouch." A familiar voice says from the doorway. I look over to see Jeremy following Lucy into the room.
"Save us! Max is making us adult." I complain.
"What is all this?"
"Reports and planning for the initiates."
"You're in the hospital." Jeremy says incredulously.
"Exactly, we can't run away." Sidney says and I snort in amusement.
That evening Sidney and I are still working, tossing ideas back and forth to one another when our spouses walk in.
"Hey, Rosie, whatcha doing?" Miles asks slowly.
"Work for Max. I already told him this was the last extra thing I was taking on." I assure him.
"And this can't wait until you're out of the hospital?"
