"So why don't you ask her to get a DNA test?" Karina sat in front of Tyler's desk.
"I just don't want to be rude. But if it's really mine, I want to take care of the baby." Tyler sighed.
"Why don't you just take care of the baby, whether it's yours or not? You took care of my kid all the time. And it seems like you love Jay too." Karina smiled bitterly.
"I don't know, Karina. I'm still in love with Jeff and still hurting from him leaving me. He seems happy with Joe even with all the financial problem they are in now." Tyler sighed.
"You really want to put your ex, current boyfriend, to college?" Karina stared at Tyler.
"No.. I made him work as an intern here, he would get the same salary as any other intern. I do give them rent-free room, but that's all." Tyler rolled his eyes.
"You stretched yourself so thin for Jeff. I really hope that works well for you." She shook her head.
"I love Jeff and I know he loves me, though not as a lover. He's my best friend. I would do anything for him. I don't need your advice on our friendship." Tyler shook his head.
"I know, I'm sorry. I know you and Jeff had a long history." Karina regrets making those remarks. She knew that Tyler and Jeff had developed some kind of attachment for almost two decades.
"Okay, I need to see a client. Thank you for your advice, and we should hang out soon." Tyler smiled as he stood up and grabbed his laptop.
"I'm sorry, again for what I said.." Karina knew that Tyler would not make a huge deal out of it. But Tyler is still her boss now, and she can't just hurt his feelings like that.
"It's fine." Tyler smiled and left the room.
Karina went back to her cubicle, which she shared with Chris. So Chris spotted her upset face. "What's with your talk with Tyler? Did he fire you or something?" He raised his eyebrows.
"No.. I just trashed Jeff in front of Tyler. I'm pretty certain that he likes me a little less now." Karina sighed.
"Well, our friendship with him is already on edge because I broke up with him and Rene asked for his sperm but did not want him to be close to the baby. And now you pushed us further by trash talking about Jeff? Why did you do that anyway?" Chris gave a serious stare at her.
"I just don't like seeing him hurting, and this whole arrangement with Jeff and Joe seems to have made it worse." She sighed again.
"But, you do know why Jeff broke up with him, right?" Chris tilted his head, hoping that Karina would understand why.
"Not really? I mean, Tyler is a catch." She shrugged.
"Exactly, that means you will see him flirting with all these hot women. You just don't want that if you are Jeff. Jeff can barely function socially. Do you think he would enjoy being an arm candy for Tyler? Because it's either that or letting Tyler be with another pretty woman in public while you enjoyed him exclusively at home." Chris didn't know why a woman as smart as Karina hadn't thought about that.
"So basically his insecurities hurt Tyler, again?" Karina rolled her eyes.
"I would not call them insecurities; it's just a reality when you date Tyler." Chris shrugged.
Suddenly, there's someone coughing to get their attention. It was Rene. "Why are you gossiping? This is a place of work, you know?" He raised his eyebrows.
"You just want to know what Tyler told Karina. I know you, Rene." Chris chuckled.
"Fine.. you caught me red-handed. Let's hang out tonight! I'll ask Tyler to come too." He grinned.
"Not sure if he wants us. Karina just made him hate her by trash talking Jeff." Chris laughed at Karina's misery.
"Why do you even do that? You're the only one that he still likes." Rene laughed too.
"Whatever. I'm just worried about him. He.." She held her words. She doesn't want to talk about the baby in front of others in the firm. She knew that there were still people who wanted to take down Tyler.
"Okay, it's official, we are going out tonight. If Tyler comes, then he can spill it out to us what he just told Karina. But if not, well.." Rene grinned.
"You just want some dirt on him.." Chris laughed again.
"I'm worried about Tyler, so hopefully he will say yes to your invitation." Karina sighed.
"We'll see.." Rene walked away after that.
Rene finally asked Tyler to go with him and the rest of the gang that night, but Tyler needs to talk with Jill again. He said he would consider it. Because if Jill said she could meet him, he would rather spend his time with her. Besides, Karina was right. So what if that baby was not his? He would want to be Jay's father anyway. Maybe if he became a father, he would feel less lonely. But Jill decided to decline the meet up. She said she needed to sort out her pregnancy first, then she would call Tyler to talk about her decision. He wants to say that he doesn't really care whose baby she's having; he still wants to be the father, but he chickened out. He's too scared to make that kind of commitment. He ended up just saying yes to wait for her decision.
Tyler decided to join Rene, Chris, and Karina that evening. Karina and Chris were pretty surprised that Tyler joined them. Rene interrogated Tyler right away when they arrived at the bar. Tyler told his story of Jill's pregnancy with a lot of sighed. Tyler could swear that Rene's jaw was dropping like a cartoon character. Chris looked a little sad and had some regrets in his eyes. Karina still insists that Tyler needs to just tell Jill that he is ready to be the father of her two kids. Tyler just shook his head. Chris had to drag Tyler to another corner of the bar to talk to him in private.
"Tyler, you've got to tell me the truth that you are not ready for this. She's just your rebound. You just can't jump into this because you are lonely." Chris stared at Tyler angrily.
"I'm tired of getting a new girlfriend every couple of months, and Jeff doesn't want me. The man that I've been in love with for a decade thought I would end up with him after I came out. But he had enough of me rejecting him. He hardly gave me any chance to redeem myself for breaking his heart all these years. I give up, Chris." He sighed. "Plus you don't want me too.." Tyler turned to smile bitterly.
"I want you, I just.." Chris sighed.
"Then come home with me tonight. I need you.." Tyler rubbed Chris' cheeks. "Please?"
"But we're not telling anyone, okay?" Chris stared at Tyler.
"Fine.. Let's just say you are in labor and we need to get the baby out of you. What about that?" Tyler chuckled. "I'm looking forward to groping you inappropriately, with your consent, of course.." He smiled.
"Oh, you're always allowed to grope me inappropriately." Chris chuckled.
"I love you, Chris." Tyler grabbed Chris' hand. "I'll keep this secret to my grave." He smiled. He finally had a chance for happiness.
"Let's see if it works out, and if it does, I will move to another firm just for you." Chris smiled.
"Chris, you are overthinking this. We have a few lawyers that date each other and are even married to each other in our firm. We can date each other without you leaving the firm." Tyler shook his head.
"Well no one banged Toni before.." The younger man rolled his eyes.

"You slept with him?" Chris giggled.

"Tyler!" Chris pouted. But he would like to hear what Rene said because he trusted Rene and Karina.
"You know, Rene would never do us harm. Come on.." Tyler smiled at Chris. "Okay, if I and Chris were dating, would people think I would have made an unfair decision?"
"Oh, people already knew you are unfair towards us, so why are you worried now?" Rene grinned.
"That's fair.. see, nothing to worry about. Okay?" Tyler stared at Chris.
"Okay, wait. You are having a baby, but now you are charming this young man to your bed. You sure are a playboy.." Karina shook her head. "If you hurt our precious Chrissy's feelings, I will hurt you back badly. Understand?!" She gave Tyler a stern look.

They decided to go straight to Tyler's place. Tyler felt relieved when he saw no sign of Logan, Jeff, or Joe. "Why are you yelling this early?" Jeff emerged from the guest bedroom. He rubbed his eyes then gasped when he saw someone behind Tyler. He hid behind Joe right away. He couldn't recognize Chris. "Who stood behind Tyler?" He whispered to Joe.
"It's Chris, my ex and Tyler's ex too." Joe whispered back.
"Oh.. Hey Chris, I'm sorry my brain is a mess. I'm going back to the bedroom with Joe so you can do anything you want with Tyler." Jeff pulled Joe back to the bedroom. "And I'm glad you and Tyler reconnected. Because you are the only person that deserves him." Jeff added before he and Joe disappeared into the bedroom.
"What was that?" Chris stared at Tyler.
"I was just thinking of the sweet sex last night, so I didn't tell you about Joe and Jeff.. I'm sorry I didn't tell you that it's your ex, Joe, that got engaged to Jeff.." Tyler sighed.

"Stupidly enough, I feel the same with Chris. What's wrong with us?" Joe chuckled.
"Probably nothing, but they are a perfect couple. At least in our brains, it felt like it is." Jeff joined Joe to chuckled.

"Well, we are destined to be together then, losers that don't deserve those two beautiful human being." Joe wrapped his arms around Jeff.
"You are not a loser. I mean, have you looked at yourself in the mirror?" Jeff giggled.
"I mean, you are very hot and handsome too, and no offense, but none of us is on the same level as Chris or Tyler. Besides, we both have no jobs and, you know.." Joe chuckled. "But that's what made me want to settle in with you. Because you are not a dream or an illusion to me, you are real, and I love you for that." He kissed his fiance gently.
"Do you think we should try to talk it out again with your dad? Just so we are focused on us, not our imaginary past relationships." Jeff whispered as Joe pulled his lips away slowly.
"Can we sleep on it?" Joe knew it was the most logical step, but he despised the thought of begging his father yet again.
"Hmm.. sure.." Jeff smiled.
