That next morning Billy had rushed to school, probably for the first time since he'd moved to this shit hole of a town. His little sister, Max jumped out of the car almost immediately as it stopped and skated toward the school. Billy stepped out of his vehicle, scanning the parking lot only really looking for one person in particular. He didn't see her, but he saw Eddie standing next to a van. He leaned in his car, checking the time seeing there was still a good while before school even started so he tried not to get down as he was approached by Tommy's group. To say Billy wasn't in the mood for them was an understatement, however he had a reputation to steal, that being Steve Harrington's.
Meanwhile, Eden had finally awoke with a pounding headache and an empty stomach. She groaned as she turned over in bed, glancing at her alarm clock to figure out the time. Her eyes widened as she saw the time, 8:08am. She'd also seen a couple pills and a glass of water on her night stand.
"Shit, shit, shit!" She shouted as she practically fell out of bed, chugging the miracle pills down with the glass of water.
Eden was rushing around her room, trying to get things together. She'd just wiped off the smeared and smudged makeup from last night, deciding she didn't nearly have enough time to fix her face. She brushed through her hair quickly, the frizziness being even worse than last night to which she groaned at. She'd literally looked like she got dug up from a grave. She picked out a Harley Davidson tee and threw it on quickly, cuffing the sleeves and some ripped jeans to pair. She threw on her favorite pair of boots, grabbed her book bag and was shouting Eddie's name. She glanced at the kitchen counter, noticing a note was left in place of her big brother.
Dear little shit, I'm deeply sorry for leaving you to fend for yourself, however I was not waking up the demon that resides in you. I hope you manage to make it to school. Please don't rip my head off if you see me.
Best regards, Eddie.
Eden cursed her brother as if he could hear and flung the door open, heading straight for her bike. She picked it up, not having to use it in literally forever and hopped on making her way towards the school. Once she got in the parking lot it had already been 8:40. Classes started 10 minutes ago, so she threw her bike into the bike rack and raced into the school. She walked into her English class, Ms. Smith scolding her on being late to which she waved off. As she walked to her usual seat, she'd noticed billy Hargrove now in her class. He hadn't been here before, are the gods against her?
Billy on the other hand had a wave of relief wash over him as he saw Eden practically fall into the classroom. He was pissed because they'd messed up his schedule and as soon as he got used to his classes they switched them on him again, the only periods being the same were 3rd and 7th. He was a row away across from Eden and leaned back in his chair to get a good look at her. Some nerd wasn't getting the memo and wouldn't get out of his line of vision so Billy tapped his shoulder.
"Look, you can either scoot up or get the hell out of the way." Billy spoke, gesturing toward Eden. The kid obliged, terrified of Billy and scoot his desk forward, of course this making Eden look that direction.
Billy shot Eden a wink, her rolling her eyes in response and directing her attention back to the front of class. She was not in the mood today, she just wanted to go home and hide from every light that filled this planet. Billy was studying her features and in the nicest way possible thought that she's looked better. He wondered if she was okay, worrying slightly at her little outburst the night before. He didn't know why he was worrying about some chick, she was nothing special. He looked back to the front of the class, trying to get his thoughts about the girl to go away.
After the bell rang indicating 1st period was gone, Eden made her way out of the class to hopefully meet up with Steve and figure out what happened the night before. She'd had second period with him but their math teacher was the worst and if anybody spoke it was immediate detention. She hadn't seen Nancy all day, which is weird because she normally sees her first thing. She found Steve talking to one of the guys in their gym period and walked up to him, determined to figure out what happened before she got absolutely shit faced.
"Steve, Steven, buddy 'ol pal. Please explain to me what the hell happened last night." She said as she leaned on the locker next to him, Steve ushering the guy away.
"Nancy said our relationship is bullshit." He shrugged as a solemn look washed across his face.
"She what?" Eden shouted, wondering what the hell could've caused that.
"I-I don't know man. I don't even know what I did." It seemed as thought he was trying to hold back tears.
"Her loss. The Steve Harrington isn't bullshit." Eden frowned up at her bestfriend, earning a small laugh from him.
"Thanks. I'm sure I'm going to hear it though, i didn't pick her up this morning." He shrugged as he gestured for her to start walking to class.
The rest of the day went by as smooth as it could. By third period Nancy stormed in and asked Steve to talk, Steve being right about her being pissed for ditching her. She hasn't even remembered calling both him and their relationship bullshit, which hurt Steve even more. Eden was giving her the cold shoulder, there was no excuse for being a bitch and she always had Steve's back. Billy had avoided Eden the rest of the day, worried about the thoughts that have been surrounding her. Eden honestly got through the day without anybody bugging her and she was thankful, not wanting to deal with it. The only thing people had to ask her about was Billy to which she replied he was just her ride to the party. Of course, this got to Billy and he was beyond livid. Just a ride? That's all that entire night was to her? Maybe he had the wrong idea of her, but at least he knows now.
