Eden sighed as she blew a stray hair from her face, glad she was finally done closing. It was 9 pm in the town of Hawkins, and though it wasn't too late the air was extremely still all around. It shot chills up the girls spine as her hands shook, trying to lock the store up. She finally succeeded in getting the door locked and rushed to her car, not waiting to start the drive home.

As she pulled into the familiar trailer park she spotted an even more familiar car parked right outside her house. Eden's heart leapt as she suddenly couldn't wait to get inside. She pulled right in front of her home and hurriedly left her vehicle, starting for the door. As she slammed it open she was faced with her older brother chowing down on some popcorn, who looks as though he'd seen a ghost.

"Jesus Christ Eden! You can't just barge in while I'm watching a scary movie." Eddie screeched.

"How the hell was I supposed to know dip shit? Wayne should be home in a few try not to piss your pants." She shouted as she walked down the short hall to her bedroom.

Eden swung open her room door and smiled when she spotted a boy looking through her records. He whipped around as she entered the room and gave her a warm smile. The two walked toward each other and shared a lingering kiss when they met in the middle.

"How was your shift?" Billy smiled, massaging the girls upper arms.

"Long. I'm beat." Eden sighed, placing her head on his chest.

"I'm sorry, don't they have anyone else who could close?" Billy's eyebrows furrowed.

"Nope. Since the mall opened we're pretty slow in business so it's just me and Ralph. He opens so it's up to me to close." She huffed as she rolled her eyes.

"I'd much rather open though. It's been super creepy lately after dark." She continued.

"It's probably nothing, babe. I can start coming to pick you up if it helps." The boy shot an offer and Eden smiled.

"I'd like that a lot, thank you." She pecked his cheek before beginning to get comfortable.

After Eden changed into some comfortable clothes and got ready for bed the two spent a little time catching up on the few days they hadn't seen each other. The amount of time they were away seemed to stretch longer as the pair grew together. Billy was practically living with Eden at this point, due to only having the night to actually enjoy each others company.

The reality of adulting really began to hit the two. This would be their lives from now on. Eden would have college and Billy would be working to support himself. Thought neither would admit, they were scared of not being able to find the time to be together. Though, the economy could care less about a relationship blossoming. It wouldn't be put on hold for anything, so they two had to grow accustomed to it.

"How do you think it'll be once we're in California?" Eden suddenly asked.

"Good. I mean, great. Yeah, we'll be great." Billy answered, though it came out as more of a question.

"Well I mean, yeah. I'm just worried I guess." The girl shot her head down to stare at her hands, where her fingers twiddled together.

"Why? What's wrong, baby?"

"It's just, we already never see each other. We're always working and- and this is the only time we get together and even then we're so tired we usually just fall asleep-" Billy cut her off.

"Yeah well isn't this better than nothing? I mean I love falling asleep in your arms. Plus, I'm only working so much so I can actually afford to go to California. It'll be better, I promise." The boy grabbed one of the girls hands, bringing it up to his mouth to pepper kisses on her knuckles.

"I love you Billy. I just get worried." Eden sighed.

"I'm not goin' anywhere, doll. I love you more."

The night didn't carry on much longer. Both teens were exhausted from dealing with the Hawkins heat. Billy suggested maybe they stayed at his parents the following night, since their air conditioning worked better. He suggested that maybe it would help them have more energy so Eden complied.

As long as she was with Billy she didn't care where she went. She would do everything possible for the boy. She had boyfriends in the past but most were nothing but measly flings or wanted her for a dirty reason. Billy was the first boy the girl was able to properly connect with and she was beyond ecstatic.

Billy was also known to have a reputation. He never imagined settling down with a girl from a small town like Hawkins. Always dreamed bigger, and quite frankly never saw himself settling for anyone. With Eden it was different, he actually cared about his future, wanted a nice house and the possibility of children danced around his mind a few times. Not many, but a few. Having that big of a responsibility scared the hell out of him.

Neither teen even got the chance to turn out Eden's bed side lamp before they were asleep in each others arms. Once they hit the bed conversation didn't last long before their body's submitted to sleep. As they fell asleep both of their minds were occupied with thoughts of their future. However, something was about to happen that neither could have ever seen coming.
