Saturday, June 29th.

Saturdays were surprisingly Eden's usual days off. Her manager decided to be somewhat nice and give her a bit of freedom to be a regular teenager and not have her work her ass off through the whole weekend. So, her Saturdays were usually spent at the community pool so she could talk to Billy as much as she pleased. Surprisingly there was a cooler chill today so she was able to be comfortable in a black t shirt and some shorts. Her hair was done up in a ponytail just in case she began sweating. If there was one thing Eden hated, it was hair sticking to her sweaty skin.

The girl tapped her steering wheel on the way to the pool, listening to an AC/DC tape. She hummed along to the lyrics, bobbing her head up and down. Billy and her were doing better than ever. Talking about California, their future, and just enjoying each others company. There was nothing that could be better in the relationship, and for that Eden was beyond grateful. She zipped into the parking lot, having to quickly hit her breaks so she didn't run over 3 kids that decided to run out in the middle of the road.

"Watch where you're going!" She shouted before pulling into a free parking space.

Billy could hear his girlfriend from a mile away. He lightly laughed at her growing angry at children, understanding that they should really have parents to be watching them. He watched as she entered the gate of the pool, her hips swaying unintentionally and scanning the area. Her eyes finally met his and she smiled, picking up her pace, almost doing a slight skip.

"Slow down baby, I'll have to get you in trouble for running around the pool." Billy smirked as he got down from the life guard stand.

"I missed you so much." She muttered before crashing her lips onto his.

"I bet I missed you more." He challenged as their kiss came to an end.

"No way, Hargrove." Eden shook her head before beginning to pull her t-shirt over her head.

She was totally wrong about being able to wear a shirt other than a tank top today. No matter the breeze the Hawkins air was still, the heat almost suffocating. Summer was Eden's least favorite season. She'd rather not feel like she was going to turn into a big puddle of human sludge. Billy's eyes flicked to the girls bare torso, only her bathing suit top covering her lady parts. Eden caught his gaze and rolled her eyes.

"Don't act like you've never seen my body before." She muttered as she dropped her shorts as well.

"I know I have, I just don't think I'll ever get over it." Billy smiled, taking in the beauty of his girlfriend.

"Stop it." A blush rose on her cheeks as Billy placed a kiss on her forehead.

"You know, I think you need swimming lessons. I can give you a few when I'm off tonight." He suddenly smirked as Eden lowered herself in the water, trying to avoid all the kids in the pool.

"Oh yeah? What do you teach Mr. Hargrove?" Eden shot a smirk back.

"You know... freestyle, butterfly," he paused for a moment, eyes flicking down to her chest, "breaststroke."

"I thought you only taught the kids. I didn't know you offered adult lessons." Eden played along, trying to hide the blush that overtook her cheeks.

"Well i offer more uh- advanced.. lessons, to select clientele. Come to think of it, there is a good pool out at Motel 6 on Corn Wallace. It's very quiet, you know, very private. So what do you say, tonight? 8 o'clock?" He got low to her face, so others wouldn't hear.

"You know, I don't think I need lessons." The girls eyes flicked to his lips quickly.

"Oh but I think you do. I just don't think you've had the right teacher. Get ready for the workout of your life. I'll see you at 8, baby." He decided for her, standing up quickly to walk back to his post. To say Eden was hot and bothered was definitely an understatement.

The nerves in the pit of Eden's stomach were extreme. Billy told her he'd be meeting her at the motel so she wouldn't be waiting on him for longer than needed. He needed to lock up at the pool tonight so she anticipated him being a little later than 8. It was 7:45 at the moment, Eden may have gotten ahead of herself and a bit excited from their interaction earlier. Time was stretching extremely slow, she couldn't wait to get her hands on the boy.

7:50 pm.

8:00 pm.

8:06 pm. Anytime now...

8:10 pm.

8:20 pm. He should've been here by now.

8:36 pm.

Eden decided she'd wait 10 more minutes. Maybe he got caught up by his dad or something. She didn't want to get too upset, although her hands were sweating at the fact that she may have been stood up.

8:51 pm.

She waited 15 more minutes instead before her eyes filled with tears. Maybe he forgot, or maybe he was just a complete douche. It had been almost a whole hour from the time the were originally supposed to meet, and there were literally no headlights or roars of engines to indicate he was even close. She turned on her car, trying to link back tears as she sped out of the parking lot and proceeded to make the drive home.

It was literally Billy's idea to meet that night. He mentioned the time and place, so she knew she didn't mix anything up. Maybe his reputation finally caught up to him. Maybe he realized that what his dad said around Christmas was true, Eden wasn't anything close to his type. By now the girl was sobbing, shoulders heaving up and down in pure distress. The negative thoughts clouded her vision, and as a bunny hopped out in the middle of the road she almost didn't see it. She caught sight of the fuzzy little thing at the last second, tires screeching to a stop. The street lights began to flicker like crazy and she could've sworn she saw something dart across the road when she was encased in the darkness of the town for a split second.

The lights returned back to their normal state and she sighed, trying to control her breathing and wipe the tears that drenched her face. She needed to get home in one piece, she had to pull herself together. The only thing the girl thought of when it came to Billy Hargrove was utter betrayal. Her mind would've never even gone to the fact that his car was crashed in front of Brimborn Steel Works as something attacked him from inside the creepy factory. She would've never imagined his ear piercing screams as he tried to claw away from the terrifying creature that stood before him. Never thought that he was currently being possessed by pure and utter evil, and that both of their lives were about to drastically change for the worst.

That night she climbed into bed, body wracking at the thought that the boy lost interest finally. When in reality, she was the last sane thing on his mind as pure terror filled his body. The thoughts of never being able to see his beautiful girlfriend blasted through his mind, along with all their heartfelt memories.

This was the end, he thought as dark dust entered his body. Then it all went black.
