Klonoa's thoughts: Ok... These last few days were really intense. So there is a Cabbit who can't see or hear me and has game like abilities and a cat girl who really REALLY cooks well!

Klonoa knows he doesn't need to eat in this world though he wonders why that is the case. He can still eat and apparently Carl and Cattin both need to eat. Cattin always is trying to be helpful and she is good at it. When they encounter monsters she hangs back and provides support.

Cattin: Guys... Can we talk? I want to know more about you guys.

Carl: Well... I don't have much to tell. I like to play games and one day I became the hero inside a game and from that point on I would randomly be summoned to another world. It wasn't as fun as I thought. and I bet ghost has an awesome story that I won't be able to hear.

Klonoa typing and speaking: Well... I don't really know much of my own life. Everytime I sleep and have a dream I am sent to a dream world in danger and I save it and get returned. I made many friends... and had to leave them...

Cattin: We all had it rough...

Carl: Well! Then I guess a training montage is in order!

Klonoa: That sounds fun!

Cattin: Will it help? If so... I'm in.

The group spends a while practicing their movesets over and over while Cattin read the grimoire. In the end they have no idea if they trained for only a short amount of time or a really long time. They had to stop because the mist was getting worse. Cattin didn't know any places either. They kept going and sometimes just pass out for a second before waking up the next. The journey and the destination were blurring together and the amount of time they remained asleep was growing. There was.... Nothing. No monsters. No street lamps. Even the dark trees seem to have vanished. The lack of anything was wearing down on them. They thought about going back but they have lost their way a long time ago and don't know if traveling in any direction would help. Eventually Cattin had to tell them something grave.

Cattin: Carl... How do you feel?

Carl: Sick.... I'm hungry.... Always... I'm passing out.... I.... My mental state is not good. I want to scream but don't know if I can. I... Want blood.... I need.... EXP.... No... I want fresh blood.... Cattin... I need that potion. Can you pass it to me?

Cattin: .... I am running out of ingredients for it...

Klonoa: W-what?!

Cattin: We hadn't fought anything in a while and so I thought that along the way I'll just pick up the ingredients.... There is nothing here.... Just.... a dead field...

Carl: Oh.... Well. Let's go another direction. I'm fine. It isn't that bad. I'll just stay out of fights to not trigger the curse.

Cattin: ... It isn't good...

Klonoa: Lets go... I am not going to give up on either of you!

Cattin: Me neither.... I hope... Klonoa... Stay here. I'll go out and find the ingredients. They aren't rare. They are just common plants and a bit of my blood. I'm a really good tracker... I'll find you...

Carl: Your..... What? Please tell me you are joking.

Cattin: I am not... It can't be from anyone else's... It has to be from a.....young female child under ten years old. I'm nine.... Though time is different here so I might be mentally older.

Klonoa: You are not going alone! I know that no monsters have attacked but still! It's dangerous!

Cattin: I know.... But it is my fault for not telling you about..... her before you met her.... This situation wouldn't have happened....

Carl: We kept pressing you and you were nervous. Don't feel bad. We are going to make it through this!

Cattin: .... This is why I said it was impossible... Not we..... Not all of us are going to make it...

Klonoa realized what Cattin is thinking. If she goes out alone she might die. If Klonoa goes with her then Carl would be alone and might have to fight. If they go together it reduces the chances of them finding what was needed compared to if they split up.

Klonoa typing and speaking: No. I will go.

Carl: Ghost! We need to stick together! Never split the party man!

Klonoa: Cattin. Can you aid him and slow down the process? If you can then I'll find whatever you need.

Cattin: I-I can slow it down.... But no! You would be in danger too! And you could get lost....

Klonoa: I know.... But being a hero is... about making sacrifices for the greater good.

Carl: Can we.... Set up a tent and sleep on it? We'll find a way......Together.....

Klonoa hears a chime of a grandfather clock and the echo of laughter. They can't hear it... Only he can. Klonoa remembers the words, "A Horror of your own making". Klonoa is terrified and tries to clear his mind and not think about any possible disasters. But... That is not how the mind works. The more you try to not think of something the more you think of it. Klonoa stops. He knows.... Even if it wasn't scripted that it would end with him losing one of them.

Carl: I am holding everyone back.... DAMN IT!!!! F**K! AAAAAH!!!! I want to SHREAD! I-

Cattin: N-no! P-please! Come down! You'll make it worse!

Carl: Hahaha....... Guys.... Stop it. Don't make this harder for yourselves.... Leave me... I'll be fine.... And hey! If I go mad and turn into some monster I won't be conscious anymore and won't suffer.

Cattin: ....No...

Klonoa typing: NO!

Carl: You know....I think I got an image of the kind of person you are Ghost.... No. Klonoa..... You... Are a good person. A hero must make sacrifices for the greater good. Though I don't plan on going right now. I still have more than enough willpower.

The three of them are determined to be the one who leaves. The question is.... Who leaves first?
