Carefully busting into my parent's penthouse, I began plotting a surprise. I'd bought some cake mix and brought my stuff, eager to greet my family after having traveled for so long.
I plopped my stuff into my room, my travel buddy climbing out of my backpack. "Morning fluffy, rise and shine." I laughed despite the darkening new york sky fading into evening.
I'd met the mutant silverfish in an alley during a wicked thunderstorm, and after feeding the starving bug, it refused to leave my side.
Id dubbed it fluffy, because it in fact, wasn't fluffy in any way. In fact, it was the least fluffy creature in my family.
Baking a cake wasn't hard, hiding it and preparing the surprise was a little tougher though. Fluffy helped with eating up any leftovers, and soon enough a pristine cake sat atop a decorative plate like a culinary trophy.
The time rolled around, and I heard footsteps echo in the hallway. The door opened and two figures walked into the apartment. With a grin, me and fluffy pounced.
"Mom, mama! Welcome home!" I grinned. They were shocked for a moment, before smiling. "Sweetie!" Their voices distort as they removed their human disguises.
Their true forms revealed, my 'mama' was a yokai sheep, and my 'mom' was a wolf yokai. They had found me as a kid after losing my blood family, soon adopting me eagerly due to not being able to have their own kin, despite me being human.
"Its so good to see you again, have you come to stay here?" Mom asked, fangs showing in her smile. I nodded. "Ive seen america, and I've finally opted to come back for a while... I might've missed home.." i mumble the last part.
"Awh, sweetie, we're always willing to have you around! Come on, let's have a family dinner, I'll make your favorite!" Mama cooed.
