The battle had just began, several yokai duking it out for the sake of the prizes of wealth and fame. The crowd was loving the vibe and my outfit, and I was living for it.
As fights went on, money came in easy and everything was going smoothly, until the announcer called in a new contestant. A green figure entered the pitch, and my eyes narrowed. I handed my tray to a fellow staff with a polite smile before grabbing some gear from the armory.
"A new challenger enters by the name 'neon leon', how will this tiny turtle fare against the fearsome, horrible, fire breathing- hold on, what's this? We have another new challenger! A face we all know and love, it's the human y/n!" The announcer prattled after I had put on some armor I found, and hopped over the short wall separating the stands and the arena itself.
I landed on my feet in front of the striped terrapin with a glower, gaze locked on leo. He was flabbergasted, not expecting me to hop into the ring with him.
"Y/n I'm so happy to see-" "shut it." I snapped, beginning to circle him. "You left me, and now you come crawling back expecting me to forget everything and frolic away with you? Fat chance."
"What? Y/n what are you taking abou-" "DONT PLAY DUMB." I seethed, pulling a sword from behind my back. "Im going to beat you into the dirt."
And with those words, I lunged. He narrowly dodged my swing, refusing to draw his own sword. I grit my teeth and swung again, forcing him backward. No matter how many times I swung he never drew his own weapon, and it was pissing me off.
"Fight back already!" I yelled, swinging at the turtle who just pulled his head into his shell. "I'm not going to fight you.." leo stated, surprisingly serious for once.
"What, because I'm too weak for you? I'll make you into soup." I hissed, swinging once more. He grabbed my wrists, and my temper reached a fever pitch. "Get. Your. Hands. Off. Me." I growled like a feral dog.
"Why are you- you're not too weak! I love you!" He cried, holding my thrashing form as I tried to pummel him. Planting a kick on his plastron, he flew back and skidded against the ground. Before he could stand, I pinned his shell down with my foot and most of my body weight.
"Why do you keep stalking me?!" I swung my sword where his head was, and he rapidly pulled into his shell. "Because we missed you and I was happy we had finally found you again!" His voice emerged, poking half his head out.
For a moment my wrath faded, and my face must have shown it due to his hopeful reaction. "We couldn't find you anywhere and when we managed to track you down you were working with big mama!" He explained, hands coming up to my ankle that was above his plastron.
"I was with big mama because she said you guys didn't want me anymore! That you didn't care!" I hissed, eyes tearing up and body shaking. The crowd was almost silent for a moment, before I threw my sword to the side.
I turned away from leo, stumbling a few steps and falling to my knees. My body racked with sobs choked down while my heart hammered against my ribs and my vision blurred. My body was having a panic attack.
I felt a hand on my back and I was pulled into Leo's chest, clinging to him like if I let go he would dissapear. To the crowd this was some sort of romance drama, and everyone watched in anticipation.
" I would never just leave you, you mean everything to me. I love you more than I can put into words, hell even more than donnie could put into words." His arms were around me like an anchor as I cried. I sobbed against his plastron as the crowd 'awwwed' at the sight, big mama stunned.
I was lifted from the ground and into Leo's arms, he cradled me close like I was broken glass. "Sorry about you all missing your little fight or whatever, but I'm going to bring my lovely lady back-" leo was cut off by several thuds.
Big mama and several guards entered the arena.
"Bring her to me!" Big mama ordered, and they rushed leo. He shifted me onto his shell and swung the odachi, making a portal.
"See ya laterz~" he jumped in, and between emotional exhaustion and the tiring feeling of portalling, I passed out.
