I woke up in my bed, not Leo's, not my bed in big mama's. My bed at home. Fluffy was laying on me, and when I moved I was barraged with purrs and gentle nips. I grabbed fluffy and held it close, cherishing my silverfish friend. Exiting my room, I found my moms on the couch and was promptly swarmed by them as well, yanked into a family huh instantly.
"You're okay! Thank goodness, we saw everything that happened on tv, you were really in a pickle." Mom fretted, mama nodding her horned head. "We were so worried!" I allowed them to hold me, and went on about everything that had happened.
They listened without judgement, and by the time my story was finished they both looked ready to brawl with big mama herself. "Where's leo?" I asked, looking around. "Where's my boyfriend?"
"I think he was going back to his place in case you needed some time, if you'd like to go and see him, you can." Mama said, mom nodding. I nod back, grabbing my things and fluffy.
"Bye mom! Bye momma! Im probably spending the night!" I called. "Keep it pg-13!" Mom laughed, my face reddening before I shut the door and left.
I'd never raced to the lair so fast, sprinting like my life depended on it and barreling through the sewers. Id made it to the lair, and everything was quiet. Everyone must be asleep.
I dart to Leo's room, sneaking past the curtain door and glancing around. He was asleep, sprawled on his bed. Silently chuckling at him, I lay next to his side while fluffy got comfy on the foot of the bed.
Running a hand over his stripes, I sat in adoration for a moment. This damn turtle meant the world to me, and next time someone tries to tell me otherwise I'm going to fist fight them.
"Leo." I whispered, the turtle in question twitched in his sleep. "Hey leo, dear." I whispered, and his eyes slowly opened. He groaned and yawned, before noticing me right next to him.
"Y/n, you're here.." he stated quietly, and I nodded with a dumb grin. "I missed you so much you little.." I trailed off, before laying myself right on top of him. His arms twined around my waist, and we sat In eachothers embrace.
And all was right with the world.
Tenderly, I ran a head over his head and placed mine on his plastron, his hands tracing circles on my back. "Im so glad what she said isn't true.." I whispered, basking in Leo's presence.
"It's not, and it never will be." Leo replied, pulling the blanket up over the both of us. Silence reigned once more, as some movie leo forgot to turn off quietly played in the background.
Fluffy fell asleep quickly, the silverfish snoring quietly while me and leo had gradually shifted so that we were watching the forgotten movie.
"I can't believe a mutant like me ended up with such an angel. Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" He joked, and I gently smacked his arm. "We're both plenty lucky, I don't know what I'd be doing if I didn't know you."
"Remember when we first met?" Leo asked. "And when my disguise slipped?" I nodded. "I remember, the first thing I thought about was how your stripes were neat." I chuckled.
As the movie droned on, so did the quiet conversation, until leo yawned. "Tired?" I muse, patting his head. He nodded, arms giving me a squeeze. "Get some sleep then, I'll be here when you wake up." I cooed to the sleepy turtle.
He drifted off rather quickly, and I placed a kiss on his scaly head, before allowing myself to succumb to sleep as well.
And all was well with the universe.
