THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE car ride back home, Amy felt like something was off. She's had that feeling since she saw Bruce push Erin away.
She looked over at her brother who was leaning his head on the window with a sad and mad expression on his face. The last time she saw Bruce like that was when he lost his baseball game and that was around the time Billy went missing.
The ride home was quiet. No one talked much and when they did it would be small conversations.
Bruce was tired, he just wanted to go home and secretly cry in his room. He still hasn't figured out why he felt so hurt. That's something that has been on his mind for the rest of the night.
Erin on the other hand kept on trying to talk to Bruce, but the boy would not crack. She hated the silent treatment but also didn't care at the same time.
Something she hated most was getting the silent treatment for no reason. Erin knew it was for a reason. Bruce doesn't give anyone the silent treatment unless it was for a reason.
"Alright Yamadas, you have arrived," Felix said breaking the somewhat awkward silence.
Felix pulled up in front of the house and stopped the car.
The second Felix stopped the car, Bruce got out not saying a word, and slammed the door. Felix and Erin looked at each other in shock. Amy sighed as she got out of the car.
"I'll talk to him," she said before closing the door.
Amy quickly caught up with her brother who was walking to the front door pretty quickly. Bruce opened the door and was about to shut it in Amy's face but the younger girl quickly caught the door before it could shut.
"Bruce," she said walking in and shutting the door. Bruce didn't stop walking, he was trying to get to his room so Amy doesn't see him cry.
"Bruce!" she said a little louder and ran up to him but that didn't stop him, that only made Bruce go faster. "Bruce, I'm talking to you!" Amy said running in front of Bruce to block his way.
The boy sniffled as he tried to hold back tears. "Look Amy, I'm going to try to say this in the nicest way possible but can you move? I'm not in the mood for your pity right now."
Amy crossed her arms "I'm not moving until you tell me what's wrong" she said.
Bruce knew he was done for when he felt a tear slip out "please Amy, I just want to go to my room" he said trying hard not to choke.
