ERIN TRIED HER BEST to stay asleep, soft sniffles were the only thing you could hear in the room. Felix tried his best to comfort her in any way he could.
It felt like a relief when he got her to sleep, she refused to sleep even though she was exhausted and the crying tired her but she just kept on refusing.
Felix would wake himself up from time to time to check up on her, and every time he would hear a sniffle he would rub the girl's back or kiss the top of her head.
He had just finished making sure that his siblings were in bed and was in the kitchen washing the dishes when the front door opened.
He knew who it was since they were the only ones missing "Josephine Keene, why are you home so late?" he asked.
"I was at Niki's, I thought mom told you."
"She didn't tell me you were gonna be home late," he said turning off the sink and grabbing a rag to dry his hands.
"That's because I didn't tell her" the girl sassed "why do you all of a sudden care about what time I get home?"
"Oh, I don't know, maybe because there's a possible 40-year-old man kidnapping kids," he said in a harsh tone.
"You never cared about the Grabber, you don't even believe in him."
"I never said that I didn't believe in the Grabber," Felix said.
"Then why do you care about me being kidnapped all of a sudden-"
The two siblings got cut off by the stairs creaking, they both turned their heads to see Erin walking down the stairs, her eyes were puffy, her nose was red, and her face was wet meaning that she has just finished crying.
Felix quickly ran up to her "you're supposed to be sleeping."
"I just needed water," the girl said in a soft voice.
A scoff can be heard, Felix and Erin saw Josephine rolling her eyes and crossing her arms "so I'm not allowed to be out this late but you're allowed to have a girl over this late."
"Josie, don't-"
"That is so unfair!" she shouted, "she's probably just a slut just like the other ones-"
"Josephine Keene!" Felix shouted at his sister causing the girl next to him to jump.
"What?! She has no business being here!" Josie raised her voice.
"Don't raise your voice at me, she's allowed to be here, she needs to be with someone right now" Felix said walking up to his sister.
"THEN WHY DOESN'T SHE GO TO SOMEONE ELSE'S HOUSE?!" she yelled.
