The next evening he bounced up ahead of everyone else and ran to his medical room.
The human was sitting in the corner, still shirtless.
"Hi."
"Hey."
They stared at each other for a moment and then the human stood. "Can I have water?"
"Oh! Uh... yes. Yes, I forgot you need food and water and... a bathroom? Did you pee in here?"
The man rose an eyebrow in disgust. "Do you see or smell any pee?"
"No, sorry I'm not used to having a human yet."
"Yeah well, lack of water and lack of pee can often go together."
"Right." He ran out, embarrassed about being so nervous. He was a doctor for crying out loud! He returned with a plastic cup of water and an unwrapped protein bar. "Here. You can pee in the cup after you drink the water."
That raised brow again. He looked like a haughty prince. "Why? You have a giant house and absolutely no bathrooms?"
"We have bathrooms of course, but I just can't let you go into a room by yourself."
"I don't have anything on me. You took my only weapon."
"Did I take your desire to escape?"
Silence.
"I didn't think so."
"No, no listen I'll be good for you, okay? You can leave the door open, and I'll even let you take a peek at my junk."
"Unnecessary."
"Please? You really want me urinating in a cup you drink out of?"
"I was just going to throw it out after."
"Well that's just economically irresponsible."
Chan froze, almost laughing at his quick wit. He barely composed himself. "Alright. I'll take you. But no funny business. Eat and drink first."
"I have to go really bad though."
"You don't want to eat first?"
"Not sure I'll last." The human sighed pointedly.
"Fine. Fine, fine, fine. Hands up. I'll only handcuff you between rooms."
He did as he asked, and they wandered a few feet down the hall and into one of the guest bedrooms. Most of the extra rooms had adjoining bathrooms.
Chan unlocked him in front of the toilet, attention zeroed in on his hands- until he unzipped his jeans. Then he couldn't look away fast enough. The human relieved himself and flushed, washing up.
He heard it, but he almost couldn't believe that it was happening. The human was praying, turning the sink water into holy water, even dipping a rosary into the bowl that he'd hidden somewhere.
He didn't react soon enough. The human splashed him and he fell back into the bedroom, burning with hell smoke. He could hear his footsteps running down the hall and away.
"Dammit, dammit, dammit." There was a muffled shout. Hyunjin.
Chan forced his eyes open even though it burned. He ran down the hall in a crooked pattern, banging into the walls and even knocking down some of the paintings.
When he reached the first floor he found Minho and Hyunjin struggling with the door.
Chan grabbed him, groaning at the burn of his hands which were still kind of wet.
