Chanyeol liked TXT. But mostly because he liked their human.
He'd only met one at the party- but there were two out when he came by, and the sight of them had him missing Minho all over again.
How did his Mouse run away from him? Where did he get the nerve?
"Sorry, we weren't expecting company." Yeonjun greeted, offering him a seat. He hid it very well, but there was something jittery and hidden in his mind. Something that was setting his heart beating a fraction too fast.
"It's no trouble, I should've called ahead. I had a few questions is all."
"Yes?"
"You don't happen to have... anything to drink... do you?" His gaze dragged implicatively over the younger human's long form, making the boy squirm uncomfortably at the desk where he was studying.
"I'm sorry," Yeonjun said, perhaps a bit too loudly "our donors are on rest today."
Two vampires he hadn't met before, drifted out of the darkened hall beside the boy. Both were wildly handsome- but, then again, most vampires were.
"That's understandable. I won't be long. I was just wondering if you know Chan and the Stray Kids coven?"
Yeonjun gulped. "We've... spoken before, yes."
"That's all? You looked quite chummy with them at my party."
The human he'd taken a sip from that night- Soobin he'd called him- came over and sat with them. Unbelievably, he began to speak directly to him.
"We've known them for a while. Yeonjun and Hyunjin took some night classes at the university together a few years back."
"How thrilling." Chanyeol purred, cutting the two into pieces with his most intense glare. "You let your donor converse FOR you? What tempting confidence he still has."
"I like him that way." Yeonjun spat, struggling to keep his composure.
"Well. As fascinating as that is- I'm actually here to see if you've ever met their donors?"
The silence was palpable. And much too telling.
"I don't feel comfortable discussing my friends so openly." Yeonjun hissed.
"Well, they've stolen from me. Do you feel comfortable discussing property instead? One of my donors- Minho- I trained him appropriately, though he does still like to malfunction at times-"
There was the sound of a chair sliding backwards and then falling completely over. The younger human- bless his little heart- was fighting back tears; biting his lip hard, as if that could keep his words in.
"You're the one who did that! You-you BURNED HIM!" He was working himself into a real rage, pale cheeks pinking, breath choking out of his lungs in gasps.
"And I enjoyed every screaming second of it too." Chanyeol goaded, proud to have things going precisely how he'd wanted them to. He KNEW they would be the key. If only he had come to them before.
In a shocking display of courage, the tall boy rushed him, and Chanyeol flipped the gorgeous specimen around, holding the struggling kid by the throat.
"HUENINGKAI! LET HIM GO." Yeonjun growled, one hand on Soobin's chest, keeping him seated. The other two vampires appeared at his side, barely containing themselves.
"He just attacked me, you realize. I have every RIGHT to kill him. A donor should never harm the Master."
"You aren't his master!" Soobin said, and Yeonjun shoved him further down into the couch.
