Chapter Cover: Eve leaning against the wall with strange writing upon them...
A muted silence was all that was around us with the remains around the table. It was horrific to think that someone had been enough to betray all of those people and poison them. I was observing the skeletons that were around us like a macabre decoration of death with the rotten food in front of them. The question that was hanging over my head was the reason why this act had been done. Elianna Mable based on what we know so far had decided to murder everyone inside that room and then close the door behind her leaving this secret buried in this village's ruins.
I turned my attention toward Elizabeth. The girl had this cold look upon her face as she was staring at the dead people in front of her for a few moments. The anger that was on her face before as at her realization of what her great-great-grandmother had done had disappeared completely replaced by this empty look that was on her features.
"So everyone that I never knew were dying because of that woman's selfishness?" she muttered shaking her head, "Just what the hell..."
"Let's have a look around," I told her, "Maybe there is something that we missed."
Elizabeth didn't even look like she had heard me as she was still glaring at the corpses that were in front of her. I shook my head lightly and turned my attention toward her as I approached toward the girl. She looked up at me as I approached.
"Let's get out of here," she said.
"You're not going to look around," she asked.
"There is nothing to look at," she said, "This entire thing had been a giant waste of time."
I shrugged lightly at her. I really though that we would have at least found something thanks to the clue that we had found on our floating friend and that we would have been able to take care of what was causing Elizabeth to get very sick but now...all that we have found was the remain of a Brotherhood that existed a few decades ago and they were all dead...possibly killed by the woman who was at the very root of the mystery...
Elianna Mable.
Eve...something is wrong...
I blinked at SkySlayer's voice as both Elizabeth and I made our way toward the door which closed itself before we could get out of the room. We both came to a stop in front of the double door, taken aback by what had just happened. We glanced at each other.
"Did you...," Elizabeth started.
I nodded.
"I saw that," I murmured, "Just what the hell is going on?"
Elizabeth approached toward the door and made to push against it but a green glow appeared in front of the door stopping her from touching it. The girl was surprised at it as her hand stared in midair as if an invisible wall was standing right in front of the doorway.
"What is that type of magic?" she said surprised.
I came to stand beside her and raised a hand to touch the emptiness and sure enough there was the feeling of hitting something before the door but what it could be I had no idea. It didn't feel like any magic I have ever sensed before.
"This is different than the magic that I know about," I told her.
"What do you think it is?" Elizabeth asked.
"Well, If I was a betting man," I told her, "I'd say this was some sort of protective spell to protect this room...or like a containment."
"A containment?" Elizabeth repeated, "But why..."
