"Don't you already have Twelve members?" I asked.

"No actually," Invel answered, "We lost one of our own a few years back. They have been only eleven members of the Shields for many years. They have been candidates who are training to become members but if his Majesty had chosen you to become one, you should accept it. There is no higher honor in Alvarez."

I gave Zeref a glance to gauge his expression, but the young man was staring back at me with that same easy going expression he always had. There is no way I am going to get anything straight out of him right now but this was good.

"If I am to serve you Lord Zeref," I said, "Then I shall accept this new position."

"And I will gracefully accept," the young man said.

There was a few moments of silence at that, broken only by the sound of the wheels of the carriage and the soft clip clop of the horses outside.

"If I may ask," Invel spoke out, "How would you know that this Etherious will not act as the rest that you have created?"

Zeref smiled lightly.

"Tell me Venum," he said turning his gaze toward me, "What did Nova create you for?"

That was something that I knew quite well. Nova didn't stop talking about it at all during our entire battle and then there was this strange dream that I had before meeting with Zeref at all. I closed my eyes for a few moments before turning my gaze toward him.

"To serve you Lord Zeref."

Invel stared at me for quite a long while as well before giving a brief nod.

"Very well," he said.

He seems to be satisfied for now as he also fell silent.

Night had fallen completely when we reached the city. I stared out toward the window noticing the tall buildings that were build everywhere and the people that were walking through the street. It was oddly very similar to how Magnolia used to look but with a hint of something from Edolas. But even so, I couldn't help but notice the large castle that was build in the distance. It was easily larger than the ones that was in Crocus by just looking at it as it stood in the darkness almost forbidden in appearance. The carriage passed through it's gate and then come to a stop at the courtyard which housed many trees and they were a few grass covered lawn visible in the semi darkness that was light by the moonlight above and the torches that were dancing at the corner of the castle.

Invel stepped out when the carriage came to a stop and I followed suit before Zeref followed after. The young man wasted no time to walk forward and into the building as Invel was following after the two of us.

"If you are to become one of the Twelve," he said, "You must be recognized as one but not by the country but by the others. I will sent words to the rest that a new member have been chosen. That way they wouldn't be surprised if they come across you."

I chanced a glance at him.

"And what would I have to do exactly as a member?"
