Chapter 270 - True Colors

The battle had started.

Ever since the sun had risen above the clouds that morning the sound of the battle against Fairy Tail had been going on. All of the other Shields have gone ahead and joined the fight, all of them except for me as I had simply stayed behind so that I could finally enact my plan. I had sent Nyssa ahead with a message so that she wouldn't get caught in what I was about to do. Letting out a soft sigh, I made my way back into the guildhall feeling the numerous magic through the area.

It was still a strange feeling to be back here in Fairy Tail looking around the room for a few moments. It was clear that they had once again rebuilt the hall considering that it was destroyed after our battle against Tartaros a year ago now that I think about it. It was still strange to believe that all that madness against the guild of Demon…the battle against my Mother and against the future she had envisioned for me. To be a mindless slave to Zeref's will.

But now, I wasn't going to be a slave at all to Zeref, I was going to be my own person and it's time to get a move on unto my plan. Letting out a soft sigh, I made my way straight toward where Irene was standing over the small blonde girl. Even by just standing there I could feel the powerful magic that was being extracted from Mavis who was simply lying there her face twisted in agony…thought I am mostly sure that it had something to do with the Ice collar that was around her neck…

Invel's work, I thought looking down toward the object with disdain.

Irene seems to have noticed my presence for she turned her head slightly toward me with a light puzzled look upon her face.

"I'm surprised you are still here Venum," she said, "I would have thought that you'd be gone and join the battlefield with the others."

"I am going to," I answered her, "I was just curious about how long this is going to take to remove Fairy Heart from Mavis's body?"

Irene let out a small hum as she returned her gaze toward the small girl on the table in front of her. Her eyes seem to narrow lightly at the sight as she was siphoning the power away from her.

"It's a more complex magic than I had originally believed," she said, "I am specialized in working unto removing those type of magic…it's going to be a while before I actually finished my work here so that his Majesty can obtain what he wishes with that power."

I nodded my head, manipulating the Ethernano around the guildhall.

"I see," I murmured softly.

Without any other words, both Irene and Mavis were caught a blast of magic so powerful that it destroyed half of the Fairy Tail guildhall as well as a large part of the mountain it was built it. I could hear Irene yelling out in pain at the sudden attack and can even hear Zeref shout something, but I wasn't paying attention to all of that. Moving quickly, I instantly approached Mavis's form and took her within my arms and then, with a single move, I launched myself out of the guildhall and toward the mountain outside.

Have to be quick, I thought to myself, instantly creating projections of myself along with Mavises in their arms so that in the confusion I will not be tracked down.

In that moment, also, I lowered my own magic power down but since no one else could sense magic the way I do, I knew it would be a while before they found us since I was moving at my top speed to leave the guildhall behind. After taking refuge into a destroyed building, I placed Mavis's form on the ground focusing upon the collar that was around her neck and manipulating the Ethernano there as well, I broke the collar from her neck.
