"Ahsoka?" Anakin asked. The Force seemed to rumble and Ahsoka's Life Force flickered, nearly sputtering out. "No!" he cried. He turned the speeder violently.
"For the Force's sake, Anakin! What in blazes are you doing?" Obi-Wan shouted.
"Ahsoka's dying! I can feel her!" he said, speeding up. The two were pressed against the seats as Anakin pushed the speeder faster and faster.
"Anakin, you're going to break this speeder! It was just finished!"
"Ahsoka thought about that! She modified it to go fast enough to nearly enter lightspeed!" he said, pressing a few buttons.
"Lightspeed?!" Obi-Wan cried.
"There's goggles under your seat! Now this is pod-racing!"
"Anakin, if you don't slow down, we're going to crash into the hospital!" Obi-Wan said.
"Ahsoka thought of that, too! Instant brakes!" he said, pulling a lever. The speeder screeched to a stop perfectly in line with the other cars. "Not a scratch," he said, dropping his goggles and running inside.
"Hello, sir. How can I help you?" The receptionist asked.
"I'm here to see my daughter. Ahsoka Tano," he blurted out.
"I'm sorry, she cannot have visitors at this time."
"I need to see her! I...I," Anakin gasped, sighing quickly. "I'm a Jedi," he said, grabbing his lightsaber and setting it on the counter. "Keep this safe. If you get the call that she's okay, I'll be expecting this back. If you don't..." The woman nodded.
"Floor 85, room 9. Go get your baby girl," she said, placing a hand on his saber.
"Thank you," he whispered, running up the stairs. "This was a stupid idea," he panted, climbing up the final flight of stairs. He heard her calling for him through the Force, but her voice was fading rapidly.
"Sir, she cannot support guests at this time!" the nurse exclaimed as he entered the room.
"I-I can save her! Let me try, please!" he begged.
"Try," she said, stepping to the side.
"Ahsoka! Ahsoka, baby girl. I'm right here," he said, grabbing her hand. The monitor showed no pulse, no signs of life.
"No," he whispered. "I need you, baby girl. Don't walk out on me like this," he pleaded. "Okay. Do or do not. There is no try. I will save her," he said to himself.
Anakin closed his eyes, concentrating on the Force. He felt it channel through him, entering Ahsoka. Her eyes opened, glowing bright white. Anakin continued to feed the Force of Life into her. He felt her grow warm and soft. Her eyes regained their bright blue color, shining silver in the dim light.
"Master?" she asked.
"I'm right here, baby girl," he whispered, hugging her tightly.
"Master. You came for me," she whispered into his chest.
"I'm not your Master anymore," he said, starting to cry.
"What do you mean? Wh-what are you talking about?"
"All her charts are positive. She's free to go home," the doctor said.
"Thank you, ma'am. Come on, little one. I have a lot to talk to you about," he said, helping her up.
"I...I felt everything slipping away. I knew I needed you," she said.
"In a dream, or hallucination, didn't you say that Dooku sucked the life out of you?"
