"Here, rest," Padme gave the young Jedi a small pillow and a bowl of soup.
"Thank you, senator," she coughed. Anakin limped next to her.
"You were very brave, youngling," Anakin said, wrapping her wounds with bacta bandages. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan were helping Master Plo, the Temple continuing to burn in the background.
"That's an eyesore," Ahsoka said, looking at the clear sky. It was almost perfect, except for the billowing black smoke.
"We saved everyone," Obi-Wan said. "Be thankful for that."
"I am. But, where are we gonna go? There are nearly 10,000 of us all over the Galaxy. This is just everyone who was at the Temple."
"I don't know. Let's go check on the others, Soka," Obi-Wan beckoned.
"No. I'm not leaving him until he wakes up," she sobbed softly.
"He's one of the toughest Jedi we have. He'll make it. They all will." He rubbed her back gently, soothing her as she cried.
"Thanks, Master. I don't know about you, but I have a word or two to say to Palpatine."
"This is terrible," Anakin said in the background. "And you're sure it was him?" he asked across the roof.
"What other Sith Lords do we know of? On the holo-net, he said that we would pay," Obi-Wan said.
"I still don't remember what happened. I remember the Astral Incantation and then seeing wounded Jedi all over our roof."
"You did the Astral Incantation? And it worked? I'm so proud of you, Snips!" He hugged her tightly.
"What about Caleb and the kids? Are they okay?" Ahsoka asked.
"We have them bunked in your room for now. There's no space to put them anywhere else."
"Okay. It's too late to push the wedding back now. We have to keep going. Anakin, I need you to come with me to address the Senate."
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yes, Anakin. Please, come," she put her hand over his.
"You're not afraid I might switch sides?"
"You've already proven that you'll choose family first. I would be honored to have you by my side for this."
"You two can stop being all sappy now. We've all cried enough," Obi-Wan said, hugging them both.
"Come on. Let's go. We don't need anymore tears to fall," Ahsoka said, breaking away. She hopped down into the house, seeing Padme packing a small bag.
"I'm coming with you," she said, kissing Ahsoka's forehead.
"Padme. I don't want to put you in danger any more."
"I appreciate your concern, but I've seen my home invaded, my life threatened too many times to count, and you throwing yourself to the frontlines like a rag doll. I'm coming with you and that's final."
"Thank you, mum," Ahsoka mumbled, hugging Padme tight.
"Of course, sweetie. Anakin, get your butt down here! We're leaving now!" she called.
"You have him wrapped around your finger," Ahsoka joked.
"No. He doesn't want his butt kicked," Padme winked.
"I hear you two," Anakin said, breaking up the fun.
"Can we go, too? As representatives of Coruscant?" Trace asked.
