And I can't think of anybody else
Who I hate to miss
As much as I hate missing you
"I wish you were here."
You had a great night, there's no denying to that, but talking to your boyfriend brought you back to reality and in a matter of seconds you were feeling guilty for being okay. There was a clear longing feeling in his voice whenever he said your name and you hated yourself for disappearing for an entire day.
You hated yourself for not missing the feeling of being sad.
"I wish I was there, too. Or that you were here. It doesn't really matter, as long as we're together."
But James was great, he was a sweetheart. He hated it when you felt depressed, even though he couldn't stop himself from feeling the same way. Your departure completely shattered his heart.
It was his idea to stay in a long distance relationship, which you were glad for, because you couldn't imagine yourself without him.
That night when you two talked, you told him you'd made new friends, and he was ecstatic. James made sure to let you know that he was happy you were allowing yourself to enjoy your new life, and you laughed and told him you weren't that excited.
But you were.
Truth is, your thoughts drifted towards your new friends a lot. You wondered if they had liked you and if they'd want to hang out with you again. You even found yourself thinking about them when you were talking to your boyfriend.
Realizing that you'd been feeling lonely was hard, but realizing that you had to do something about it was harder.
The two of you talked throughout the night and when James said he had to go, you whined and asked for a few more minutes. He chuckled, not taking you seriously, and told you he loved you before hanging up.
You fell asleep to the silence of your room and extreme overthinking.

Nockfell had a weird weather. The previous day had been so cold you actually wore an extra sweater to sleep, but today the sun was shining so bright you woke up before your alarm went off, blinded by the rays that peeked through your thin curtains.
You didn't think you'd had too much to drink the previous night, but you also didn't remember giving Ash your number —or getting hers, for that matter—, so receiving a text from her contact caught you by surprise.
Ash 🍀: rise and shine, beautiful!
Ash 🍀: u still up for today? :)
You furrowed your eyebrows, reading the texts twice to make sure you got them right, confusion written all over your face. What the fuck was she talking about?
You: I'm sorry I think I got too drunk
You: I completely forgot what we were supposed to do today D:
It didn't take long for her to reply, like she had been holding her phone the entire time.
Ash 🍀: lmao
Ash 🍀: I told u I could give u a ride to school today and you were like "yeah totally!"
Oh, that. Come to think of it, you did remember the offer and accepting it simply because you felt good at the moment. But now you weren't so thrilled anymore.
