Put your lips close to mine
As long as they don't touch
"Holy shit," Larry spoke as soon as he took a good look at you and Sal. He laughed. "You're both high!"
It sounded funny, what he said. Or maybe it was the way he said that — really, it was probably just the molly —, but you and Sal laughed along. A lot. You felt actual tears in your eyes.
"We're high as fuck." You corrected, looking at Sal and making him laugh even more.
"Is this why you two disappeared?" Ash asked in a disapproving voice, crossing her arms. "To do drugs in the bathroom?"
"Yeah." Sal replied bluntly and you bit your lip to stifle another laugh. Ash looked pissed, you didn't want to make her angrier.
But she just sighed, shaking her head and looking between the two of you. "I didn't take you for someone who liked drugs," Her words were directed at you. "And I've never seen Sal even consider them before, but at least you're both safe. If you're going to be doing drugs, I'm relieved to know that you'll be doing it with one another and not someone random."
"Thanks, Ash, I appreciate the concern." You smiled at her, who forced a smile back.
"I really trust Y/N." Sal blurted out, out of nowhere. You, Larry, and Ash turned to look at him at the same time. "I'm happy."
"Of course you are, man." Larry chuckled, throwing one arm over his shoulder as you all started walking. "What did you guys use anyway?"
"Molly."
Larry frowned. "Where did you find Molly?"
"A guy was talking about it with his friend, he pulled the pill out of his pocket to show him and then went to put it back inside but it fell out and he didn't notice." You giggled, hiding your face behind your hands. "So I went and stole it before he could miss it."
"Jesus Christ, Y/N." Larry laughed again, followed by Sal and even Ash. "Oh well, finders keepers losers weepers I guess. Next time just make sure to share with me too." He pouted and you smiled, pinching his cheek.
Ash walked a few steps behind everyone, eyeing Sal the whole time. She wanted more than anything to grab his hand and take him away so they could talk and she could apologize. She felt like shit after their small fight, seeing as they were extremely rare, almost non-existent.
But she didn't want to do this when he was so high, especially when he looked so happy. She could see just how much the two of you had hit it off and she definitely didn't want to be a killjoy. So her angst would have to wait.
As if his newfound high had given him mind-reading superpowers, Sal looked behind. He noticed how far back Ash was and the distressed look on her face, so he started slowing down his steps gradually until they were walking together.
"I know what you're going to say," He started whispering, so close to Ash that she could hear even with the loud music still booming. She wondered just how loud it was for Sal in his drugged state. "And I'm sorry too."
"That's not all I'm going to say." She sighed, raising one hand towards Sal's chest to stop him in his tracks. "You were right, I really shouldn't have interfered. It's not up to me to decide what's good for you and I see it now. I mean, you're clearly doing good on your own." She laughed.
"She's wonderful." Sal smiled, looking ahead at where you and Larry stood talking. He knew he should have said something more meaningful to Ash — she was apologizing to him, after all —, but he couldn't hold back. He just felt like spilling everything that was in his mind. "And I lied to you, I was going to kiss her yesterday. And a few minutes ago."
