Chapter 202 - Against James

Chapter Cover: James dressed in his robes as they flowed around him.

Just by looking at his face, you could tell that James was extremely pissed off at us. The man's magic power was rising at his anger as he glared at our direction. The man walked toward us his face completely set. I stood in a stance with the lightning RuneSave in my hand, getting ready for this fight. This guy was strong that much I knew by just sensing his power but he was completely off the chart.

"This guy's magic… is on another level," Wendy said.

"Be careful child," Carla said.

Then James raised his hand and a magic circle appeared behind him.

"Alteration: Speed," he said simply.

I blinked as the man instantly moved forward dashing at such speed that was even faster than lightning. I was completely blindsided by this move as I was hit straight into my stomach from the attack as I was thrown back upon the ground and I heard Wendy yelled out as well as she was hit. I turned my attention toward the direction the man was standing as she was staring up straight toward him as he turned toward us.

"So…So fast…," Carla said shocked.

I glared at James's back for a few moments before lightning started to surge from RuneSave and my entire form was completely covered with it in seconds. I launched straight toward him with the lightning increasing my speed as well as the enchantment that Wendy had done to me and I reached toward him with a strike of RuneSave's lightning but the man managed to dodge the attack by jumping to the side, making me surprised that he even managed to even dodge me.

"Alteration: Magic," he said as another magic circle appeared around him, this one a gold looking one, "Ground Crusher."

Large burst of earth grew out of the ground around him as I was hit by them thrown backward from the sudden attack and I landed back down upon the ground upon my back, wincing in pain at the wound that was upon my side. I winced in pain as I felt someone kneel beside me. Turning my attention toward her, I saw Wendy there looking at me with worried eyes.

"Eve…are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm fine," I told her, "This guy is stronger than he looks. Keep your eyes upon him Wendy don't let your guard down."

"She is right," Carla said, "The enemy is right in front of us. We mustn't let ourselves get distracted right about now."

Wendy nodded turning her attention toward James who stood across us with his hands joining together. Another magic circle appeared behind him the exact same color as before.

"Terre Mer," he said.

A large explosion echoed around as both Wendy and I were caught in the explosion of the attack both of us pushed backward and I could hear Wendy yelling out in pain as the blast continued to charge through the entire area around us. The very earth had become like a raging sea taking both me and Wendy along it's large waves as the only spot that was still normal was the one that James was standing on right about now as he was staring up toward where we are.

"He changed the land completely?" Carla yelled.

"Just what kind of magic is this?" Wendy asked.

I glared around myself and with a slice of RuneSave, I cut through the earth that was around me as it disappeared completely from around my from and with my other hand, I had feathers spinning around me before they all launched straight toward where James was standing as the man looked toward the oncoming attack and then spoke again.
