Ensorcelled Enigma (One direction, Fantasy)

*Gateway to Abyss*

ALLY'S P.O.V

          I screamed as I saw Jessica's eyes turning into coal black. Her chains fell as she stood up with a blank face. There was absolutely nothing I could do. I tried to use my ability but it just didn't work. I watched helplessly as Jess walked towards the edge of water and started speaking in an unknown language. The wind blew furiously making her hair flutter and I could see ripples forming in the middle of the lake.I knew what was coming next but what I hadn't realized was that my friend would be the one pulling out the gateway to hell.

        The ground trembled beneath us and my hands clutched the grass. A whirlpool swirled in the lake pulling at the water and a slab of stone emerged with a pathway leading to the edge where Jessica stood.

NORMAL P.O.V

"He is coming." Louis whispered and I stood my ground. It had been a hectic day but thankfully I was outdoing myself without creating any huge mishaps. For the first time in my life I had cast a circle focusing all my energy into it. I could feel the flaming circle drawing in the energy from the sources nearby.

         There was a crash to my left and I saw Zayn lying on the ground and so it had begun. Stefan walked out from the shadows, his sceptre held in his hands. I scrunched my eyebrows as his eyes were not the usual purple but almost a black. He was gritting his teeth and as his eyes fell on me, he raised an eyebrow. I smirked as an unknown spirit surged through me. My hands raised and in the next second I had created a shield around Zayn.

          Zayn took a chance to steady himself and shot out a bolt of fire which glided easily through my shield. I had succeeded in creating a one way wall. Stefan easily dodged the attack as a spiraling energy shot out from his sceptre just to bang against the shield. I could feel it, he was going easy on the shield. It wasn't just us that Stefan had to handle. Louis and Liam were trying to distract him aswell but he was powerful. He managed everything at once. But what he hadn't realized was we had something totally different in mind. It was not him who kept us engaged so that we could not reach the lake. It was the boys who were keeping him engaged so that I could recharge my power. The time had come and one wrong move could lead us to defeat.

I can do this...I have to do this..This is for all my friends. I can do this.

"Marteria Virgam!" I waved my hand and I could feel the cool metal of my beautiful sceptre against my palm.

Lets do this!

     To Stefan's utter surprise, Louis had pulled Liam into the shield and I myself had run into the protective globe without wasting any moment, I forced all my energy into the sceptre.

"Teleravisa Vima!!!" I touched the base of the sceptre to the ground concentrating on the lake we had previously been to. I felt something pulling me and then everything was light. For a second I felt weightless but soon it was over. I saw in front of me the lake which was now a auburn glass with a stone in the centre. I gasped as I saw the delicate form that lay near the edge of the lake and made my way towards it.

"Jessica!" I splashed some water on her face but nothing happened. She seemed to be in a deep sleep.

"The portal!" someone yelled and I looked at Ally who was now running towards me.

ALLY'S P.O.V

       I watched aghast as the body of Jessica lay limp on the edge of the lake. In the very next moment, Sapphire was next to the four elementals and instructed them something for which they nodded. They walked towards the gate and I could see Niall walking behind them.

What is she planning to do?

Why does Niall have to go?

To see that they follow what she has said?

But they are already under her command.

       I cursed for the fact that I could do nothing. Suddenly there was a flash of blinding light and Sapphire screeched. I blinked to focus but as I waited for my eyesight to clear, I felt something crash beside me and Harry grunted.

"Harry?" I panicked, wrestling against my shackles.

"Hey hey...calm down. Others are here. I am going to free you now. Stop moving okay." Harry murmered against my ear and I relaxed a bit. My vision cleared and I looked at Harry who had a stern look on his face. His hand looked like a grey stone and he lifted it to hammer against my chains. I turned my face to scan the situation and heaved a sigh as I saw Catherine running towards Jessica. I had been worried sick about her. Louis and Sapphire were a blur but their grunts told me that they were in an intense battle. I heard a crack and Sapphire growled menacingly but in the very moment the shield around Aaron disappeared and he was next to Louis.

"Lets go Alicia." Harry said pulling me up and I looked at my free hands.

"The portal!" I yelled and ran towards the lake. The four creatures along with Niall had already reached the portal and in the next moment they inserted the key into the crevice in the slab of stone.

"Noooo...!" Zayn yelled and I looked to see that even he was running towards the doorway. Everything was happening really fast as Catherine and Harry joined us. There was a flash of light as the auburn moon shone directly above the gate and the path trembled. By the time we reached the gateway, the four elementals had already turned the wheel like structure in the middle of the slab. It hadn't been visible from far but now I could clearly see it. Instinctively we pulled Niall and the other elementals back and touched the wheel to turn it around.

"Something is wrong." Cathy whispered and I could feel it too because as soon as our hands touched the wheel the trembling stopped and a glow seeped  through the carvings on the stone. It lit up and the carvings separated the stone into two halves. Harry cursed under his breath. I couldnt believe it.

"Did we just?" the words stuck in my mouth as I felt a thick darkness spreading around me. The heat increased and the atmosphere filled with nightmarish growls and screams.

"Damn it! We have to close it now!" Zayn yelled as he started to push against the wheel. The rest of us joined him as we didnot have time to watch in shock. The wheel turned with our combined forces and we pulled out the keys. The stone now stood in front of us just as before as if nothing had happened here.

"No!!!" Sapphire screeched. Louis had been thrown to the ground and Aaron was busy keeping away Stefan with the help of Liam. Zayn was busy defending himself from Niall's attacks who was still under her control. She had given up control on others I guess because they lay limp on the ground. She was fully focused on the keys in our hands. I touched my palm to the ground turning the path to ice. Sapphire leaped in the air and to my shock a dagger left her hand and it was coming right towards us. I could see a blur behind her. Louis pulled her and crashed into the lake but it was too late.

"Ally!" Harry pulled me to the side but I wasn't the target. A scream left my lips as I saw Catherine standing frozen in shock and the dagger made its way towards her. Her hands were raised in defense but I couldnt see a shield. There was a bright light and I shielded my eyes from it reflexively. I heard Catherine's scream and my heart stopped.

It's been a long long time since I wrote. Well I was busy with my exams but I will admit that I was tensed about the action scene. I know I am not good at it and there might be a few loop holes but I am glad I finally pulled it off.

I love cliffhangers...do you? ;)
