Complications is my new normal....

Yes that's how I describe my life. My mood had hit the floor as I walked out of the Headmaster's office. I saw my curly haired best friend come running towards me. Her dark brown hair bouncing around.

"What did he say?" She simply asked.

"it wasn't my fault!!!! It just happened!! I told the Headmaster there was an earthquake. Everything was shaking and the books fall down. But he wouldn't listen!!!" I explained for what felt like a hundredth time. Yes if the shelf had been heavy I would have been spared but it was a lightwood shelf. it could have been easily pushed. The only things making it heavy were the books but all this didn't mean I would go around pushing bookshelfs in my irritation.

Alicia gave me a 'What are you talking about' look.

"See you don't believe me either."I grumbled.

"I am sorry Cathy there was no earthquake. I didn't feel anything shaking" she said, her green eyes searching mine. I sighed.

What was wrong with me?? Am I going crazy or something?

"I am not lying Ally" I replied massaging my eyebrows with my pale fingers.

"Hey relax. I believe you. Its just kinda strange these days. Same is the case with me. I-"

She was interrupted by my phone blaring.

"Mum. Gotta take it" I said raising my finger to stop her.

"Hey Ma"

"Catherine!! Are you at college?" My mother seemed stressed.

"yaa..."

I heard a sigh at the other end, "Mr Banker called. Cathy is it true or are you being blamed again?"

"he called? Noo...you know I wouldn't do it!!" I exclaimed. This was going out of hands.

"Then what is it Cathy? I know you wouldn't pull off a scene like that but is there something I should know about?" There was concern lacing her voice.

" I don't know whats happening!!" I almost yelled. A few students walking in the corridor stared at me and Alicia looked worried.

"Cathy relax!! We will talk when you get home. Do you want me to come pick you up sweetie?"

"No Maa I am okay...I will see you at home. Seeya..Love you". I shut my eyes trying to push away the tears that were threatening to spill.

"Love you too honey. Drive safely."

I guess it was visible in my face when I ended the call. "So Mr.Banker called home...that is...well don't worry she knows you won't do that" Alicia said trying to soothe me. But her hesitancy wasn't helping. I was frustrated. What was I going to do?? I hadn't been into such trouble ever but I don't know what was wrong for the last few months.

Everything around me happened to destroy itself.

Wondering what had actually happened. The only conclusion I could come to was 'an earthquake' because there was nobody at the other side of the shelf. I tried to explain but they denied the earthquake theory.

Then what really happened??

Wierd!

Suddenly jumping back to the present I recalled "Ally what were you going to say before mum called??" She was about to continue but the bell rang and she had to run to her class. Well yes I had to go home as I was suspended for a week for no reason!! They had the reason but it wasn't my fault. I felt miserable.

There was a sign of disbelief in my mother's face when she opened the door but she did not say anything. I couldn't take it anymore, I just threw my bag and ran to my room crying.

"Cathy!!" my mum called from behind me but I did not look back. I didn't want to see her face knowing she won't trust me anymore but I was wrong after everything that happened she still told me she trusted me and cared for me. She was just worried. Her words soothed me and I was worried about what dad would say but she said he wasn't angry either. It was surprising though that they weren't lashing out on me and actually believed what I had said.

I had a nightmare that night. Not a new thing for me but I woke up with a sound of a crash. The 1st thing that I saw was that my laptop was lying on the floor.

How is that possible?

Now I was totally freaking out! Thank god mumdad didn't wake up from the noise. I had just one person in my mind who I wanted to talk to right now. I picked up my phone and was about to dial when it buzzed...I received the call immediately.

"Hello Ally!! I was just about to call you.."

"I need to tell you something." Her voice sounded desperate.

"What??" I asked, her tone making me curious.

"I will tell you when we meet! First thing in the morning at our usual spot!"

"What time??" It was no use trying to pry the information now.

"Seven." No question mark? this was serious.

"Why are you freaking out? Okay I'll meet up 1st thing tomorrow." I said. We said our goodbyes and I shut off the light that I didn't remember putting on.

I can't wait for tomorrow. There is definitely something wrong here.

I picked up the laptop and put it back on the table. Thankfully it was working. I got into my warm blanket praying everything would be fine soon.

I woke up at the sound of my alarm. 6.am! I shut it off pulling my blanket over trying to sleep again. That's when it occurred to me...the previous night...I sat right up looking around my room making sure everything was in its place. I checked my cellphone. Yaa surely there was a message.

Ally: u up?? catch up in 15 mins. don't be l8!!

It was sent half an hour earlier. I was sure this girl was up all night.

I hope she is alright.

I replied quickly.

Cathy : yup!! cya soon.. jus breathe :)

I sprinted out of my bed trying to get ready as soon as possible and succeeded in doing so in the next 20mins. I saw my phone buzzing just to find Ally agitated already.

What's on with this girl?

Ally : wer r u??? i reached!!! come fast!!!! :/

cathy :sowiie :( m leavin right now. b there in 10..
