Kara soared high into the air, her eyes blazing with golden fire. Without warning, a massive fireball erupted from her hands, hurtling toward Uma. The sea witch darted back just in time, the ball of flames crashing into the water below and fizzling out with a sharp hiss.
Uma roared in anger, swinging a massive tentacle upward, aimed right at Kara. Gasping, Kara darted to the side, barely avoiding the monstrous appendage.
"Come on, Kara!" Uma's voice rang out, taunting her. "Let's finish this once and for all!"
But Kara didn't want this. She didn't want to fight, and she certainly didn't want to hurt anyone. Yet her body was moving on its own, fueled by an anger she couldn't control. She couldn't stop it.
"No!" Kara screamed, trying to wrestle back control, but her words fell on deaf ears. The dark voice in her head—the other her—was stronger now, louder.
"Oh, stop being such a baby," the voice sneered, dripping with venomous contempt.
"Stop it!" Kara shouted again, panic rising in her chest.
The voice laughed coldly. "Uma started this. She was going to hurt your friends, your loved ones. She deserves to be punished, and we're the ones to do it."
"No! I don't want this!" Kara's voice shook, but her pleas were powerless against the dark presence.
The voice sneered. "Of course you do. Feel that power surging inside you? This is who you truly are. Don't pretend otherwise."
"Please, stop..." Kara's voice was weak, almost broken.
"Pathetic," the voice spat. "You're weak. Do you really think good and evil can exist together? Let go of this foolish dream. Work with me, and together we'll defeat Uma once and for all."
"No," Kara whispered, her voice barely audible.
The voice sighed, frustrated. "Fine. Let me handle it."
Before Kara could respond, her body surged forward, entirely out of her control. She let out a thunderous roar, the sound reverberating in the air, and with a fierce cry, she sent another stream of fire racing toward Uma. But the sea witch, quick and calculating, shifted to the side just in time. The flames barely missed her, scorching the ocean's surface.
Kara hurtled through the sky, her movements sharp and chaotic, as though driven by sheer fury. Uma swung another tentacle, this one aimed right at her. With only seconds to react, Kara swerved out of the way, narrowly missing the ship, which loomed dangerously close. She nearly crashed, her breath catching in her throat, but she managed to stop just in time.
Spinning back around, Kara's focus remained locked on Uma, her body driven by the dark presence within her. She hurled another fireball, this one aimed at Uma's head, but the sea witch ducked beneath the water. When she resurfaced, a massive wave rose up, crashing against the ship with terrifying force. The vessel rocked violently, sending everyone aboard flying to the sides, their terrified screams echoing in the air.
Kara let out a furious screech, her vision filled with the chaos around her. She wanted to stop, to make sure her friends were safe, but the dark presence kept her locked on Uma. She had no choice—no control.
Kara snarled, her body hurtling toward Uma again. She was getting closer, ready to strike, when a familiar voice broke through the storm in her mind.
"Kara! Hold on!"
Her head jerked toward the water, where Ben had emerged, his eyes wide with concern. His voice cut through the haze, the chaos, breaking the grip the dark voice had over her.
